having a situation where an auction can go on for an almost unlimited period of time is kind of ridiculous.
It is quite odd, yet multiple buyers were willing to bid (even tens of thousands of dollars) under those conditions.

If the seller and buyers want to transact under those conditions, why should we not allow them to do so?

Seems counterproductive to make a rule about it.

why don't you keep us updated in another thread

vote over there
Because it was members in this thread that requested the process be started for potential Pro badge removal. ;)

1 vote to go

There are 3 other pro members who have commented in this thread, maybe 1 of them will step in to vote for removal unless they think it is an ok business practice not to honor an agreement?

The more time you allow, the more sellers/buyers will renege on their deals. This particular individual, whose history shows a clear pattern of failing to honor auction commitments, explicitly declared this auction to be an "experiment".

That "experiment" was a calculated act, aimed directly at manipulating the bidders and testing the forum's tolerance and rules. By prolonging the auction process, the seller only afforded himself more time to violate agreements while testing the limits of the community.

Sellers who introduce such uncertainty and treat the community with this level of calculated indifference pose a severe, active threat to NamePros' integrity and reputation. Consequently, they create unnecessary risk for every participating bidder.

The fastest way to reduce the risk of non-compliance is to implement and enforce a stricter, shorter deadline within the auction rules, thereby significantly reducing the window of opportunity for agreements to be broken.

Fair points.

Oddly enough, his auction only ran for ~4 days.

If his intention was disruption, I can't help but wonder why he ended it so soon when he could have easily run it for months.

It's strange to run an "experiment" auction for less time than the run time of most standard auctions with a couple bids and an end time of 72 hours after the last bid.

This account doesn't get a vote, despite the badge, but I would vote for his removal if I had a vote.

We only have the badge to help carry out what the PRO members decide.

sounds to me u are still defending him

whatkind of mod r u anyway if u csnt even remove a badge
and have to vote or ask others for permission. I mean what's next.... .maybe u will be asking him for permission to remove it?

some people or newbies rely on badges like tis to learn from people and look up to them.
as it stands the pro badge became a mockery in my eyes.

just do your duty plz.

instead u go around infracting others for promotions or antagonizing cause some like to use stronger arguments during heated debates.

such bore

I don't understand why this is the appearance being conveyed.

I had to get a referral, answer detailed business and ethics questions from a committee, and file screenshots and videos documenting sales and other required performance metrics. In MY experience, the process represented a challenging, thorough vetting.

It was NOT simply an annointment because another Pro member said so. Not in the least. I am very curious what the disconnect is here.

that doesnt really change the fact it's been mocked pissed on and stepped on.

maybe that's what he meant.

well it's what I mean anyway

but since u do bring up the hard vetting process... then how hard can it be if it allows people who will mock it in?

You both are so dramatic.

@Dream Domains also had a VIP badge like both of you, earned the same way as both of you, but he lost it because moderators restricted his account.

He will likely lose his PRO badge, too, once enough PRO members become aware of the situation.

If he doesn't, then they aren't worried about it in this scenario, and neither should you be since neither of you have the badge.

dramatic huh?

says the guy who put 3 infractions in my dm in last week. none deserved. all dramatic.

just remove the damn thing and be done eith it. now u just look like a guy who doesnt see everyone here wants it removed.

the longer this goes the more pro badge becomes mockery forever.

to me at least.

anyway I'm done here.

see u in infractions dm

bye

Marketplace restrictions and PRO badge revocations shouldn't feel like two unrelated systems. With the moderators having already imposed the restriction, you have grounds to assert more authority.
