The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

My personal hypothesis is that the unusual auction terms will scare away some potential bidders, and therefore negatively impact pricing. I don't think that a long-running forum auction is the best way to increase exposure.

However, as long as the seller follows through with the sale, I personally don't see a problem with experimenting with this format.

This is exactly what it is - an experiment.

its not really my biz cause it's your domain and rep and account.. but why did u and why do u spend other people time on bidding on auctions which u see merely as experiment to see how high price goes.

some would say this is not respectful to others time and u strike me as fairly respectful and smart fellow

for example.. if this fine domain was mine and given np does not allow reserve price... and I need fast cash sale maybe for marriage or such then iwould for example begin auction at 6fig. maybe say 100k

even here on np with all us cheap reseller bastards domain like this is not impossible someone would bid a 6fig start price.

perhaps next time u consider this.

As long as he follows through with the sale, I don't see the problem. If a buyer doesn't want to wait for the auction to complete, then they don't have to participate. It really is that simple. He could've chosen not to list the domain for sale at all.

If the sale is canceled again, then it is problematic.

I think u missed my point

I was taking about if he does not follow

lke before

just read it again plz

my words do not apply to situation where he does sell.

but if u make auction as experiments then u disrespect the people time. it's basically not very friendly.

It may not be a waste of time if the unusual auction format results in a price discount for the buyer. It's easy enough to ignore a single auction if someone isn't interested in the format.

Far more ethically questionable (and more deserving of moderation imo) are all of the classified posts on this site for residential proxies. Now that is a shady business.

it's a great name.

nobody really on np begins great names at 1us.

it just does not happen.

unless in his words... it is indeed just an experiment.

i dont care... not my name.. not my account ... however I have some care for a friendly approach and attitude toward other people time ... because it is essentially respect. and respect is a good thing. in this bad world.

I can appreciate your perspective, and I agree that it would be very disrespectful if he were to cancel the sale again.

Why wouldn't you submit this to an auction house? A Namepros auction is not going to move the needle.
Yes easier to ban in good faith than to change rules ...what in forsaken???

Yeah, no offense to NamePros auctions, but this domain belongs on a much more popular venue or with a top broker.

Brad
No offense taken according to NP its what makes them different 7 days 6 days or 20 years forget about hours...they doing it differently

So if this was the last bid, the current one - $16.5k

You would sell it for that price?
You already asked. I will honor my auction.

He won't sell anything here, he just wants exposure and hype, that's what his ''experiment'' is all about.

Auction aside, I want to state that if you are going to put forward mean comments, you will get them in return 10x long term. I took a step at least. You are just sitting still and expressing rudeness. A good start is to take a look at your user name and profile picture.

The traffic from the domain is redirected to the auction page.
More forum views = more new member registrations = more business.
This is good for everybody.
Lets see how it goes.
@Paul, are you prepared for this huge influx?

Hopefully, the views to his thread don't crash namepros. I think that fifty days is insane but until a rule against it not much we can do. My time is worth too much to bid and wait fifty days even though I like the domain a lot.
