The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

It appears that the following auction is what is being referenced here: https://www.namepros.com/posts/auction-makemoney-com.9487269/

We can also see a report where the same domain and member ran an auction that was not honored and resulted in an account restriction/ban here: https://www.namepros.com/threads/makemoney-com.1300134/post-8909079

The rules on NamePros effecting end times are:
6.1.6 applies, starting bid, bid increments (default: $1 USD), specific end date and time including the time zone or a relative end time (suggested: 72 hours after last bid) with an optional end date and time (including the time zone) that specifies the earliest time an auction can end (note: the relative end time can extend the auction), and payment options.

6.1.24. Participatory criteria (e.g., eligibility) and restrictions (e.g., blocked members) on sales listings and auctions must be reasonable (e.g., โ€œbidders must have ten positive Trade Reviewsโ€ or โ€œestablished members onlyโ€), must not require unnecessary actions to be performed, and must be nondiscriminatory based on race, gender, personal preferences or opinions, etc. Rule 6.1.13 applies.

The end time appears to be transparent, and a reasonable end time may be subjective to different people.

If for any reason the seller does not honor the auction terms they are now bound to (Since there are active bids), their account would be subject to the same action(s) that happened in the previous auction, 2 years ago for the same domain.

It's our hopes that they will honor this auction, this time, so moderators don't have to get further involved.
If an auction was not honored why would that member ever be allowed back?

Absolutely you can make that auction never end, there are a lot of spiteful people in this industry and a lot of trolls. Wait til day 49 increase the bid $1 comeback 49 days later do it again, this auction will never end if a few people decide they want to play the game.
I agree it's more about not selling a domain when you do that. It seems crazy. Also, what if they get an offer during the time of the auction that never ends. And, no rule against the 8 million USD bin either.

I agree he shouldn't be allowed to offer this up again.

The auction is the opposite approach of the name in my signature.

This is clown show stuff where I imagine most here would agree to some sort of limits. You guys banned this member before for not completing an auction, yet still has PRO badge, still doing joke auctions, still constantly changing his nickname here, still trolling. What's the point?

This is not a joke auction. My user image is constantly evolving. I have 100% reputation. That auction was opened in good faith. Hold your anger.

Many things do make it a clownshow. As he tried to sell it before then list it again after failing to honor last deal. Then in listing it again fifty days after last bid.

it really isn't 100% if you dont honour your auctions..but its not about your 'reputation' its more of NP setting a cap

1,200 hours after last bid would have also attracted attention.

The previous auction was cancelled because foodbank did not accept the bread I was buying and wanted to buy more with the sale proceeds. The purpose was defeated.

It should be done in hours and no more than 168 hours after final highest bid which is 7 days.

Not for ultrapremiums, starting at $1 without reserve.

May be you can explain whatโ€™s the reason behind the 50 ridiculous days?
