How can I make a first sale?

Hi all,

I am currently own around 70 domain names, from .com to .info, mostly com, net and org.

I parked most of them in Sedo. Occasionally some visitors visit these sites, around 60 visitors/month in sedo.

Nobody has asked me about domain sale. I'm waiting desperately to make my first sale.

Many seniors in this forum gradually sale their domains and post reports here. I'm desperate.

Can you show me a way to pull my first sale?

Thanks.

Show your domains here in selling side of the forums. Thats the easiest way I know. If they are good then they can easily be sold. Senior members can tell you better than this as they have more experience. :)

try to buy domains that people might actually want to pay money for (more than what you're going to pay). if you have 70 domains and no one has any interest in any of them, then maybe you should spend less time buying domains, and more time researching the industry.

also keep in mind that most of the world is going through a recession right now, and domaining isn't as easy as it may seem...

You could try and set the minimum offer to $60 or whatever would make you happy to sell at and see if that works. I know many people dont like to submit offers so that could be 1 possible sales leak. Once you get a bid you can then accept or send to auction.

I have and will always send names to auction.

Hi Mike,

You are talking about sedo auction, not NP auction, right?
I set mine at $30 all. Do you think it's too low?

Most of your domains are not good as per my experience, try to register good domains and sell them.

all the best.

The problem here is the domain quality. You need high quality domains to make high quality sales.

I see you have XAFE.ORG which can be used for good purposes. Built on it and sell it to an organization.

Most of your others are pronounciable 5 letters, which will eventually have value as more people take space on the internet. By the time they become valuable, you have probably pay a few 1,000s to get them renewed. But they do hold some value now. Try to sell it here at NP. In the make it offer section.

The key to real money in domaining is
1) buy and sell/flip. This is when the time domaining was new. Now the market is no longer new, most of the good names are gone or should I say all.
2) buy in new extension and sell, this occurs in growth extension or highly speculated extensions. What happen is if you don't sell, it becomes dead and you will lose your investment. Must choose the right extension for growth.
3)Develop.

I see that option 1 is not for you.

hi Tech4, thanks for your words. Rep added for you.
Which theme do you think I should develop for Xafe.org? do I use a theme which similar to an organisation then later I sell to them? Can you explain more about that?

Thanks.

I also have a bus load of domains I am trying to sell. I have made about three sells on sedo within the poast six months but things have been slow lately. I have some great names too.

Here are just a few;

traveldeel.org
travelsav.com
travelbeau.com
bluecashonline.com

and a streamline of others. The majority are .COM, and also .NET, INFO and ORG.

I am pretty new here and have been lurking for a while. Don't know exactly what the approach is here when it comes to buying and selling.

Fayces, how did you make a sale on Sedo? What was the price, and how much you paid to sedo?

Please PM me if it's not convenient to say it here.

thanks.

I can try to help. There wasn't any special technique that I used to sell my domains. I added more content to the description including stats. The majority of my sites are listed via search engines, Yahoo, MSN Google through keywords and etc anyway.

I never entered in a price (not sure if this helps or hurts me) and I usually take the first offer and put it up on sedo's auction. More of the offers were very generous.

However, when you have a portfolio of more than 50 domains and you only sell about three of them --- it's kinda like eh.

I've only been with sedo for about a year and I am still trying to understand how things work over there. Some of those domain names that I see selling every week are crap. Most, if not all are without content and hardly generate traffic. So I'm not understanding.
