Same, works perfectly for me every single time.Weird, it worked every time for me. The propagation of nameserver or TXT record changes might take a while (depending on registrar) so I always wait 15-20 minutes after doing it, and only then add my domains to DAN.
GD has a good legal team, so I'd add:Can you please confirm that EVERYONE is subject to these same new terms?

It happens all of the time. You get high volume discounts in almost any kind of large scale buying. You are less work to the company and to keep the business, they reward you with discounted rates. GoDaddy is giving you a discounted rate if you give them your lander traffic. The is no 'trade board or something' to complain to.I don't know anything about trade law, but how can a supermarket charge one customer 75 cent, and another 50 cent? That doesn't seem right. It's actually a 67% markup for those not using the satellites! Somebody should complain to some trade board or something.

I will set aside my issues with the commissions going up on Dan.com and removal of the tiered system on Afternic for now. The Afternic flat fee of 15% is probably beneficial to me personally, though I am not just thinking of myself here.
What I really want to focus on is what I consider GoDaddy's monopolistic anti-competition move of charging 25% (instead of 15%) for sales via Afternic/Dan if you are not using GoDaddy affiliated nameservers.
This is a direct shot at competition, trying to compel people to use GD nameservers. The effect of this move is to limit customer choices.
Why should a sale on Afternic not be the same commission regardless? It is essentially a penalty for people making a different choice.

Any time I buy a domain on Dan.com, I just assume it will not pan out.Maybe they can earn their undeserved raise on their outdated, 90โs website Afternic by you know a word they donโt know exists- innovation.
They canโt even manage to keep nefarious characters from listing our domains on Afternic and DAN let alone do anything actually innovative. Itโs embarrassing . The reason DAN is so great to use is because GD had nothing to do with its creation and development.

My sales where coming via DAN, not Afternic.....I was using DAN for BIN / Lease to own and make offer on Afternic, so it would of affected how much I pay out going forwards......I don't get the general concern for your competition. They aren't limiting your choice, they are offering you a reward to give them your lander traffic. I am already giving Dan/AN 90% of my traffic with the rest going to Brandbucket and Squadhelp. My sales at BB and SH have all come from within those marketplaces, never from AN.
This thread has been filled with people who haven't sold a domain for over 50k complaining about how this change will affect their over 50k volume. With many others claiming that they are leaving today, but we all know they'll still be there (the majority anyway) a year from now.
This is like all of the people complaining about Musk and Twitter, yet they are so addicted to it they can't leave, they just pronounce that they are leaving over and over.

Brad, I wish you good luck getting a reply from him. Last time he was active was to vote for GoDaddy in the NamePros registrar poll, which was clearly not allowed.I will tag @Paul Nicks as well to clarify that EVERYONE is subject to the same terms.
I see you have domains at BrandBucket. If you've also listed those domains at Afternic and they sell there, this is where the 25% commission applies. As in: You've sold a domain via Afternic while its nameservers were pointed to BrandBucket (thus not to a GoDaddy-controlled entity) so GoDaddy will take a 25% commission.
And if you sell a domain at BrandBucket or at any other place not associated with GoDaddy, then you don't need to worry about any GD commission as they have no business with your sale (even if said domain was also listed at Afternic or DAN).
BrandBucket sellers have been allowed to list names at Afternic for a while, but the question is if this will be discontinued now.Brandbucket requires exclusivity, so names listed there cannot be listed on Afternic. However, I think I finally understand when the 25% would apply. I do have names listed on Sedo and they are also listed on Afternic. In this case, if the names sells via Afternic (and not Sedo MLS) then GD would take 25% (rather than the 20% I'd pay at Sedo). I've gotta consider whether the extra 5% is worth pulling names off Sedo (since I assume Sedo MLS and Afternic basically overlap other than GD itself). So Afternic is more valuable, although I do sell about the same # of names via Sedo as I do Afternic. I'd actually save 5% by doing this - since most of my names are <$5k. Although I do wonder about losing the European/Chinese sales, which is mostly what I get via Sedo.
