Just received this email from Dan.com about commission increases (snippet of email):

BrandBucket sellers have been allowed to list names at Afternic for a while, but the question is if this will be discontinued now.
It is in your Account Settings:Not sure where you get this info from: On their website it states https://www.brandbucket.com/help/faq/sellers#can_i_list_the_domain_for_sale_elsewhere
"Can I list the domain for sale elsewhere?
The short answer is no. By accepting to list your name at BrandBucket, you agree to contract BrandBucket as the exclusive seller for the duration that this domain name is listed on the marketplace and listing the domain for sale elsewhere violates our agreement.
But though we require exclusivity in listing domains for sale, we promote your names on third-party sites and cross-promote within BrandBucket's website"

If they type your domain into the URL bar and arrive at your landing page it will be via DAN, if someone searches for your domain via Afternics network it will be via that path - covers both sides of the coinAnyone here understand the difference between having names on Afternic vs having names on Dan and then flipping the switch to be part of the Afternic distribution network? I already have an existing account on Afternic. When I log into my Dan account it asks me if I want to join the Afternic Distribution Network. What happens in this case? Which one takes precedence? What's the difference between using one or the other -- or using both at the same time? Anyone have any of these answers? Thanks!
If you allready have your Afternic account you don’t enable it on DAN. You can even remove the unnecessary columns under change view. This feature is for users who are not allready on Afternic.Anyone here understand the difference between having names on Afternic vs having names on Dan and then flipping the switch to be part of the Afternic distribution network? Yeah, I get that. But I'm referring to the back end of things. Let's say we have an account with Dan and also have an account with Afternic. Same names in both accounts. If we "turn on" the Afternic Distribution Network from within our Dan account, does it turn off the Afternic account? What if names are priced differently between Dan and Afternic? Which one takes precedence? Which price is displayed throughout the "network"?If they type your domain into the URL bar and arrive at your landing page it will be via DAN, if someone searches for your domain via Afternics network it will be via that path - covers both sides of the coin

The biggest NS movement of the day was portfolio holding 29,755 domains that moved from Bodis to DAN.

So the migration towards the monopoly has started...
Yep. As bad as we all feel about these changes, imagine how Matt Wegryzn feels right now.Despicable.
And on Google as they provide parking ads. Even Google is (indirectly) affected by GD move if we think about it...This move by gddy will surely have an impact on parking services.
Yes, it will definitely affect giggle...to me, that is the only upside to this mess. And on Google as they provide parking ads. Even Google is (indirectly) affected by GD move if we think about it...
Bad web/UI design is a huge problem overall now and a pet peeve for me.My question is why is the Afternic website so bad? They started remaking it and then kind've gave up on it. I hope that they don't take the same approach to Dan now that they have swallowed them up.
Then there's the Godaddy Auctions platform... I'm sure they remade that and then it went back to the old version. Or did I just dream that?

We'll be keeping it at 10% for buy now saleslander sales for now.Yeah - @Sedo could help facilitate it by dropping their commission to 9% if we point our domains to their landers![]()
And we would be happy to have you.Just as expected
We've been expecting this since Godaddy bought Dan .
I am seriously considering going back to Sedo .
