Thanks for the feedback.

If things were to go wrong on a network-level, I will reverse the changes.

Out of all things, I can keep the choice to change title, but I will to give it some more thought before I promise anything. From what I've noticed, title would increase CTR if you are updating it to the language that the domain visitors are speaking. But many members are using English titles for instance on non-English traffic domain names, which decreases the CTR/Revenue. If you have visitors on a domain coming from multiple languages, it would not be compatible to all visitors. Our goal is to focus on internationalizing, so I am not sure if that would help us achieve our future goal.

Are you using language-specific titles?

The reason why I favor domain names instead of custom titles is because it works for visitors in every language. It also doesn't allow some members to put text such as "Click the Links Below" which is against our terms and takes a lot of time to police. A lot of members just skip through the Bodis terms and usually it makes no sense to ban them or penalize them for something silly like that, but at the same time, we can get in a lot of trouble if our ad providers would notice on our domain names.

Recently, we've been focusing on monetizing direct type-in domain names, and it has worked well for us so far. I don't know if customization is the right strategy for Bodis anymore. As a matter of fact, I am quite certain it is not, that is why we are moving away from customization / content type domains.

I also forgot to mention that we will have full IDN support with the update.

If lucky our payment terms will go from NET 45-55 to NET 15 by the end of the year as well, I just don't want to talk about it right now since that would be jumping ahead. :)

well in a way i am, i cant use greek titles from what i remember so i m using english tiltles that greeks are fond of
(many greeks speak fluently english)
taht makes them feel secure they entered website they were looking for
most of the people after visiting a website they look for the logo or text title and then they continue to the rest of the content ;)

Is there anyone in here that would like us to support MoneyBookers as a payment option? If anyone is interested, either members or non-members, please PM me.

We are looking to add it in within the next few weeks as it would not require a lot of work. It is currently on our list of things to do.

That would be great! :)

PM sent.

That would be even greater! :tu:

Thanks for PM. :) We are now quite certain what our clients want on a whole, we just have to get around to implementing. The hard process is behind us. Now the lengthy process awaits us. :)

Jason, sooner than you think hopefully. We are just waiting on something. I will show you the one click landers once it is live on your domain names. :)

I think and hope this will be the end of us upgrading lander templates for the next 1-2 years while we concentrate on other parts of our business.

Sorry I cannot get into a lot of detail. Perhaps over private PM we can discuss more at some point. You know the deal, even though we are not as big as our competitors, I just hate to splatter details over a public message board.

Can't wait to see how they work out. If they convert as nice as they look, it should be fun. :)

Just wanted to say that the reporting is currently frozen as our reporting server needed an emergency CHKDSK ran. The CHKDKS ended up running for a total of 12 hours so far, instead of expected 2 hours.

Anyway, this does not affect your domains or earnings, and they will be updated as soon as the server comes online. All earnings are being recorded to the penny. As soon as the server comes online, the reporting interface will be updated with the numbers.

PS
Now reporting should be updated. We will have a scheduled maintenance on this server on Saturday during the night / morning hours, where reporting might be delayed again. Hopefully this time it will only run for a few hours rather than 12 hours.

weird splash page appearing after clicking a menu link from the left

Hi Matt.
I ve just visited one of my parked domains on bodis and after clicking to one of the links on the left in order to see if i have any feed results showing i experienced the following:
a new page opened(see attachment) and after some seconds i was redirected to this website:
http://smartbizsearch.com/search.php?q=Greek+Music&sa=13&sid=3153774757&p=1

i wander if this is something i ve missed over the new features of bodis, either way i d love to read an explanation from your side.

ps: i didnt click any ads, i ve just clicked a menu link from the left(i do this often in order to see if greek traffic generates any results on my parked domains, since i come from greece and many of my domains have greek traffic)

That would be ZeroClick kicking in, basically you get paid for a visitor that comes to the page or visitor initiated from a related search link. It is there to help your overall revenue (and is the reason we don't display # of clicks since it always isn't a PPC click). For instance, Sendori.com is one of our providers for ZeroClick. We have total of 8.

Just in case you're wondering - we do have a new PPC provider lined up, and will replace all current PPC providers and ZeroClick ads.

PS
There is a small delay on the new landers.

When will this new PPC providers feed go live?

A little bummed about the landers but don't mind waiting if they work like expected. :)

Matt,
evenso the past few days where not one of the best , i do hope you keep these feeds .( at least as backup )
i also hope the new feed is not google or yahoo ,as i like the fact to have an alternative place to take your domains - away from the big guys.
as for the zeroclick issue - i am not sure why this would be a problem - i personally don't care where my traffic goes as long i get paid for it.

How is bodis on international adult traffic? Any update or good templates? Can't find a good spot for my names since parking panel sold to Sedo.

What feed does bodis use for adult?

Tried this couple months back and seemed there were little advertisers on my names.

Seems Matt is working away and doing well. Congrats!

Matt, i wander if we can use keywords on the backend for having traffic and then in the frontend to show other words.
For example i have a greek traffic domain, i know they like keyword: "mousiki" which in English is translated as music. If i put "mousiki" as a keyword on domain managment then i wont get any feeds, i m suggesting to let me put "music" as a keyword but have my visitors seeing "mousiki" instead since they love to see links under their own language. Both of them cover the same area but the one which is closer to the language my traffic uses is much much more appealing since when someone from Greece lands on my domain he is looking for specific greek info and not english ones.

Matt,

Bodis seems to be sluggish to non-responsive at the moment.

I'm getting "503 service unavailable on landers" as well.
I'm not sure when it started as I'm just waking up from my afternoon nap :)

I am working on resolving it. It looks like we are being hit by some DDOS type of attack. Not that easy to resolve this type of issue instantly.

---------- Post added at 12:39 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:25 AM ----------

The servers should be running a bit smoother now. I'll be keeping an eye on it over the next few hours. Thanks to those who have gave me the heads up on the issue.

Unfortunately, it is one of those issues that every once in a while every parking service will run into and will have to deal with.

In these types of attacks, we unexpectedly get literally thousands of simultaneous visitors every single second from different ip address ranges.

I believe there is a way I can help prevent in the future, and I'll be looking into that tonight.

This is a type of attack that sometimes is just impossible to prevent. Ours looks like a very random one probably not even targeted against us specifically.

The hardest part is that in order to prevent these attacks, there needs to be logic. And usually the number of simultaneous visitors is so large, that running the logic itself will bring the servers to their knees.\

PS Looks like the issue was for no longer than 2 hours, and I apologize for the downtime during these 2 hours.

To answer the last few questions:

When will this new PPC providers feed go live?

A little bummed about the landers but don't mind waiting if they work like expected.

New PPC provider should be live within 1-2 weeks at the latest. I am unable to disclose the provider as per the terms. I will be unable to announce when the change happens, perhaps only days after. But it should be evident. ;)

Unfortunately, I will probably be unable to keep these feeds running for now. First off, our new provider should be better than what we are using now. Secondly, the current feeds really are Yahoo or Google in the background through some other 3 other middle men in the middle, and at the end they are really worthless - that is why our new provider will be the best provider you can possibly work with in this industry. IMO, there is absolutely no other better provider, and will be the only way to go if we want to achieve some type of long term success.

Bodis for international domain names in general should be and should always be doing quite well. ;) No updates to our templates, but believe it or not, the ROI on the current templates really isn't that bad. It can be better and there is a lot of work when it comes to templates, but if you want to earn your money, it will not make the biggest difference.

I am unsure if I understand, but what you are wanting to do is show the keyword "Musiki", but allow us to show ads for "Music" instead. If that is what you are asking, then currently it is not possible. If anything changes, I will be sure to let you know. As of right now, this would be against the terms of all major ad providers from what I know. It is surely a good idea, and one I have thought of in the very beginning. This would really only be possible on 1-click landers, in which case, you can suggest to show any ads you'd like on the 1-click page. But currently, our 1-click landers are not yet live.

Yes thats what i mean. This way international visitors will "read" keywords under their own language and not just english.
Thank you for the reply.

Also this is what i get the past 2 days when i try to manage a domain:
