Received payment from Bodis today - thanks!

I had an increase in earnings the first part of July (had several good days) but it has fallen off but so have my stats at other parking companies.

I joined Bodis in August of last year and my YTD numbers are very good. I am busy updating my new landing pages which look great!

Look forward to the marketplace and I hope to sell a lot of names. Hope Matt has staff to handle the transactions.

Let me answer some questions since I haven't been posting in this thread for 2-3 days now.

can t add domain to my account...

I've been working on fixing this bug for last 3 days. The bug is a little complicated and has to do with the number of simultaneous hits that our central database gets. Unfortunately, our application software has a bug with the specific database software that we use when it comes to the number of simulatenous connections that we receive and they haven't made a patch to fix it since it was released almost a year ago. So that has me sitting and redoing all of our database code for last 3 days straight. I should have it rolled out by midnight +/-, and the bug should then resolve itself. The good news is, this will also get rid of those "null error" bugs that some people are seeing on our landing pages. Although, it happens very rarely - less than 1% of our hits.

is zeroclick in lieu of or in addition to? If addition to, why would you NOT want it enabled?

This is how ZeroClick works.

If you have ZeroClick disabled, it will show the visitors a landing page and only a landing page.

If you have ZeroClick enabled, when a visitor comes in, we figure out the average PPC RPM for visitors from the country that he/she is visiting from. If we have data on the average PPC RPM, we then send a request to our ZeroClick providers, and they decide if they want to monetize the visitor on the visited domain name or not. If they do, they send us back the price that they will pay for that visitor. We then compare that price to our average PPC RPM. If it beats it, we redirect the visitor via ZeroClick and credit you for the visit. If not, we simply show them the landing pages the same way as we've always been doing.

Our ZeroClick providers may factor in a few things when deciding whether or not they want to monetize a visitor. They may not like the country, or may determine that the domain name is a very heavy trademark (Microsoft, Gmail, YouTube, Myspace typos, etc) - those have a very low conversion rate.

They also match advertisers to your domain names manually ON TOP of their automatic system. So this way, your ZeroClick revenue increases OVER TIME. Right now, ZeroClick is not being used fully whatsoever. I am hoping that by tomorrow or Friday, we will start seeing an uptrend in ZeroClick network revenue averages.

The ZeroClick providers that we have contracts with work with some of the best companies in the industry. I believe DomainSponsor (testing) and GoDaddy (live) are two of them. And from what I am hearing, it gives MUCH better conversions for advertisers (which shows that it has a very bright future), and it does very well for the publishers - according to our ZeroClick ad providers.

So to answer your question, yes, enabling ZeroClick across all of your domain names will only help you. If we cannot monetize a visitor via ZeroClick, it will just default to PPC. It can only help and increase your revenue.

I tried to look at the marketplace but the individual domain name page to see what it includes, but it says

It is disabled until next week. Once we enable the marketplace, you will be able to place offers, sell, and buy domain names.

The tour pages for Buying/Selling are not live. But once they are, they will explain the process a bit better. Our commission is 6% from all sales, with a minimum sale commission fee amount of $35. The minimum sale price will be $100.

Matt, What aprox. time will stats come out once everything gets sorted out and the dust settles?

Well so far our providers that has been slow is actually coming out with the stats ON THE DOT at 12:30, so I am happy about that. I will have to see if they keep up with this time. If it keeps up like this, stats should be always updated from 12:30 pm EST - 2:00 pm EST everyday. Starting Monday, someone else will also be updating the stats, and she is reliable (unlike myself) :), so I know that she will get the stats on the dot each day.

I would just like to request in the future (when you have the time) to add an Export feature in the reports so the reports can be exported to a .csv file.

Logged on my list. Thanks.

revenue is even worse than before...
time to try somewhere else.
Thank you Matt

I am sorry to hear that. Overall network revenue uptrend is anywhere from 30-35%. If you are seeing worser revenue it is possible that you had a lot of robots in the old stats were not being filtered properly and you were credited for them anyway. The new system credits you for only valid traffic and I think it is a pretty accurate system since we collect and analyze visitor/click data/patterns on every single impression in real-time. We then re-analyze visitors/clicks right before we update your earnings report. So we are able to get rid of every flagged visitor/click.

Will there be an "Inquire about this Domain" link added to the page so that potential buyers will know it's for sale?

Next week all domain names that are for sale will be linked to our marketplace. :)

I'ld be hella proud to have the first BODiS sale

Thanks. If you can wait it out until next week, we'll be hella proud to have the first sale as well. :) Maybe one day if we get somewhere, which I believe we will, I can go back and say that this domain name / owner was the first transaction we had. ;) But if you can't wait, all is fine! Especially since everyone knows me, I am slow and always delay things, so don't rely on me. :)

I had an increase in earnings the first part of July (had several good days) but it has fallen off but so have my stats at other parking companies.

Interesting. We had new providers that were put in around the 10th or so, and they did better for some domain names, but gave unrelated results for other domain names. So while they raised overall network revenue, they lowered the revenue for some specific domain names.

So my next step is to work on improving ZeroClick with our ad providers. I think this is where the big focus should be on. Also, next 2-3 days I will be working on how to improve people's revenue. As I've said, some feeds have high revenues, but unrelated results. So our next step is to figure out which ad providers to serve to which domain names / keywords. Hopefully, this will improve some revenue.

Hope this answers everything. And thank you to everyone for their support. :tu:

Still waiting to hear about stats and whether you think anything like this is possible:

Matt,

I really like what you have done with Bodis. I know its not done and forgive me if its already bee covered, but I think that the leading marketplaces do a disservice to the domaining community.

Traffic is important to a buyer like myself. However, of the few sites that provide traffic stats, like SEDO, they do not sort the traffic they report. The traffic they report includes all kinds of traffic when we know that all traffic isn't created equal.

This allows some people with less than ideal intentions to buy traffic and send it to their domain to inflate their traffic stats of a domain they have for sale in the marketplace. I only know this because I encountered it on two domains I have purchased from SEDO. I have yet to discover a reliable process to verify traffic stats or confirm the quality of the traffic reported.

Would you allow us to provide our google analtyics javascript code for a domain if we wanted to do this? If so, a potential buyer could provide his/her Google Analytics account info via the BODIS form when inquiring with a seller about a domain name. The seller could then add the potential buyer to his Google Analytics account for that particular domain name, allowing the seller to review the traffic quality.

Alternatively, can BODIS provide some similar service or separate (at least) the type-in traffic from referral or paid search traffic?

This or something like it would flip the domain marketplace/auction industry on its head, in my opinion.

I tried to look at the marketplace but the individual domain name page to see what it includes, but it says

I've answered some of the questions on top. But what you are looking to add is something I've always been looking to add once we get the marketplace running in production.

We already can show you the # of valid unique visitors vs # of invalid unique visitors. (It's just that I decided not to show it yet in the earnings). But it the data is stored in our database.

We can take this a step further and tell the visitors # of visitors that came through referals, backlinks, and all sorts of visitor information on the sale page. So it's something that I know I will include. But first we have to go live with the marketplace bare-bone itself. :) If that works as it does on development servers, then I'll start adding in.

Matt-

How close are we to getting a Tier 1 feed in the US? Is this just a pipe-dream? I haven't moved any of my names over because I fear abitrage will hurt my long-term traffic.

Just thought of a cool feature, under 'manage domains' how about a renewal reminder for domains that are expiring soon? I bet we've all forgotten to re-register a domain at some point.
