    Hi all,

I want to share you some of my experience and what I've archived for 6 months.

    Due diligence
I started manually to seek for 1 word dictionary domain name sales. I shortlisted about 50 nice domain. After that I started checking this word in different extensions. The extensions that I've checked were:
    • .com
    • .net
    • .org
    • .info
    • .io
I was looking for a domain with no website or some old website(you'll understand what I mean under 'old website' when you see it) and with not hidden whois. I finally found couple of those. I appraised them at Afternic and here at NP ( I always prefer to double check about the price).

    The contact

When I found couple of the domains that I was looking for I made very short cold email. It was something like this:
1 sentence intro who am I
2 sentences about the future of the domain and is it for sale
    greeting

After couple of days I received 1 response. The person asked me what I was offering. I offered $800 + escrow taxes on me(Afternic's appraisal was $1700). The person was ok with the offer. He was inexperienced in domain sales, so I had to lead the transactions. I wrote 1 good email with details on all the steps. All went good and I received the domain.

    The sale
After I got the domain I started Sedo auction. Highest bid was something under $1000 (I do not remember exactly how).
I started Flippa auctions. Highest bid was $1200 I think. Again nothing.
Meanwhile I listed the domain here and in Afternic.
On NP highest offer that I received was $2000, but I wasn't ok with that offer.
I received offer on Afternic for $500, which I rejected.
On the 6th month after purchase I received offer for $2500 in Afternic. I received email from Afternic's brokers. They asked me what is the min price that I'm happy to sell the domain. I told them $4000. They told me that they'll contact the buyer to negotiate. After couple of hours I received an email from the broker that they agreed on $5500. Everything went fine and I sold the domain.

    Conclusions
There are thousands of nice domains just waiting to be flipped. You've got to invest enough time to find them. After that everything is easy : )

    Hope you enjoyed it.

@satyadeep singh , I intentionally do not want to share the name. About nice words....just think about a word that is mentioned a lot of times and you know it. Make google search about num of results for this word, google is always right : )

    Congrats, well done!
Did you use escrow.com when buying the domain name initially?

Great Job my one question I understand not wanting to share the name, but would like to know if you wouldn't mind sharing how many characters ( how long ) the word is? Thanks
