Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I have BIN prices on all my domains. I still get offers and inquiries.

Yep, if a customer calls in for a domain, it totally bypasses the lander.

Many extensions are like this, same with .locker etc

Honestly, we are literally mapping and crowd storming, so many bugs, and solutions here. I think just having 1 engineer like take all these concerns and document them, afternic could benefit so much from it.
I mean .living and .locker I hope they have better extensions to worry about

Have you checked where your domains are landing on an inquiry page, or bin page with make offer?

Listing Problem

Yesterday I noticed a name that is actively listed on Afternic displayed as unavailable when searched at GoDaddy. That motivated me to spend time to see if more of my names were in that state. I found 10 -- all were fairly recent additions. I deleted and re-added that batch and that seemed to help. Today, though, I see that the problem is back. It's time consuming to try to find these.

GD's tech is buggy and glitchy. That doesn't seem to concern GoDaddy and I doubt that C-Suite types have any idea. Sadly, it takes extra time to work through and around their bugs. Missing listings translate to lost sales. The primary reason that I endure Afternic is to have my names show as available when someone does an exact search at GoDaddy.

I noticed @Nikul Sanghvi has been tracking unfixed bugs at @Afternic

That's been going on for years

It's perfectly normal that I get inquiries and offers, as I use both BIN and Price Request landers. I just wanted to tell @King that I was already using BIN landers, as he was implying that I didn't use them.

@GoDaddy I'm finding that the surveys I receive are coming in a few days after the initial query has been addressed. By this time, I've often forgotten the details of the case, making it challenging to provide accurate feedback. Moreover, the login requirement to access the survey frequently results in an error message. I'm eager to contribute to the feedback process, but it would be much more efficient if the survey could be accessed without logging into Afternic or requiring significant effort on my part.

I've been having the same issue ever since I used Afternic. When I click the link of the survey in the email message I receive from the support team, I always get the same error message "You have either already completed the survey or your session has expired,"

My workaround has been opening the survey link again but in incognito mode and it opens without having to log in. On the other hand, the surveys coming from the TA team are always open with no problem.

@GoDaddy Please consider fixing this issue in future updates and adding a reference link to the case number in the survey email.

Thank you!

most folk have zero.good to say on gd and an and me too..... but I'll give some credit where due... went to visit an after many months... cause now domain exposures getting scarce.. and their site is faster... better... easier.. and most of all a regular 50 name add for my 500 names yielded 485 added names... rest need verify. whereas lasttime that yielded maybe 50 names and rest needed.

looks like they are doing better cleanups now.

this is.good. I hate bins on names prefer negotiable... but maybe I'll bite for their fast network inclusion.

there I said it.

now plz make me some focking sales an. ;)

& I am still confused why people continue to trust GoDaddy with their negotiations.

The reason that most of us are still at Afternic is the promise of a Self-Brokerage Tool being implemented (which was subsequently delayed >:() as it's a lot of work to move a large portfolio sitting with multiple registrars.

But you can be certain that if Afternic either screws it up or doesn't even release a feasible self-brokerage option, then there WILL be a mass exodus away from Afternic and GoDaddy. The Afternic system as it is designed today, is untenable as a long-term solution for the majority of domain investors, so Afternic will either change or die.

It doesn't matter as buyers will call Afternic directly and try to lowball that way and bypass the lander.

I had two of those this month, one $500 and another $564, both of which are below the min bid on my lander. How did that happen? They both called on the phone and requested a price.

I suspect that the surveys that do get through get as much attention as our reporting of bugs on this thread. It rhymes with hero and starts with a Z.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm experiencing the same thing right now. Almost 9 days ago, a lead was created for a $20k domain. Broker Patrick P. hasn't bothered to make a single call or send a single email to the buyer during those 9 days.

My actions:
1) I've sent two messages to him. The first one a week ago. No answer.
2) Sent a private message to @GoDaddy 6 days ago. No answer.
3) Sent emails to support@, service@, and ta@afternic as I didn't know who deals with the brokers. Service@ responded that they have relayed my concerns to the broker, and that he will follow up with me asap. A day later and broker Patrick P. has still not responded.

What do I do now?

After 9 days of inactivity, the lead is dead, and I'm angry. What's the point of listing my domains with Afternic when the broker just doesn't give a shit?
It's now more than 12 days since the lead was created, and the broker Patrick P. still hasn't bothered to reach out to the buyer or respond to my messages.

I have emailed support more than once, and all they say is that they have relayed the information to the broker.

@GoDaddy Is this the level of service we should expect when listing our domains for sale on Afternic?

Yeah Patrick sits on leads. A couple others there too. I wish there was an option to delete tire kicker broker leads as they go nowhere. Anyways closed a sale at @Sedo.

Paul Nick's, whom I would say pretend to love the community only to support GD and afternic plan to penalize hardworking investors 25% if they dont use their nameservers .

There was never a problem not pointing your nameservers as sale would happen because your name would be searched on GD if buyer chooses to .

Friends of Paul Nick's in the industry who see this message can defend him all they want but he was never for the industry but only looks out for the interest of GD.

Do you notice how they ignore and evade questions when asked by investors about how GD and afternic don't listen to our voices?

They are ready to sponsor domain events and fake their support but those who collect GD money are limited to what they can actually say .

Some don't care about the 25% charge as long as they say to raise your prices by adding 10% to solve the increase.

Best thing to do is get GD to remove the nameserver penalty rules .The community can't come together to fight back because some will go back and betray and backstabb with articles and support for GD,while they act tough here and on X .

Some will remain puppets for Godaddy and afternic and bend their knees.

To All those brave investors who speak out and don't bend to GD and its plans to take more from your sweat and hard work ,you are appreciated. To the weak ones who bend, you can chose a keyword to describe yourself 😅.
