We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

I'm guessing it shouldn't, and the transfer would fail if anyone tries to buy it. Probably just another example of GD's system and its 'quality control'.

Despite having access to brokers, support channels, and reps across X and NamePros, we sellers still face significant communication hurdles.

This raises a concerning question: if the process is this difficult for us, how much friction are buyers encountering?

Agreed. At least with Sedo offers tend to get logged in my control panel whether they are $1000 or $50000. Afternic it's like who knows what's going on so I just assume it's dead and if not I'll be surprised. Another annoying thing is I get account reminders to fill out tax info etc... I've already filled this out and have been the same business for many years so I'm not gonna repeat this monthly cause your buggy system doesn't retain anything or just asks me for no reason. If ya want less stress in your life chose anybody else NamePros, Atom, SpaceShip, Sedo etc... as Afternic is a clown ship.

It looks like the Afternic custom landers no longer have that "Ask AI" pop-up feature. @GoDaddy can you confirm that it has been permanently removed?

Yeah it is kind of a joke at this point. I got the same 504 gateway time out at godaddy when trying to get the transfer code to move a domain away.

Is Afternic slowing down on releasing payments lately, as I sold and transferred a domain a few days ago, but no payment so far. In my experience, it's next business day or maybe even the same day if the sale is early enough.

Never had to wait this long and I'm wondering if this is a 'new trend' I need to adapt to.

My last sale about a week ago I had to unlock the domain and provide the Auth code. The same day I provided the Auth Code was the day I was paid (money actually hit my GoDaddy Good As Gold account -- as they are giving a bonus through June 30th, 2026). Not sure about ACH Payments now.

Note: I spend enough in GD Renewals that this makes sense for me. Might not be good for others who do not spend enough at GD.

@Recons.Com given that you have the most reliable Afternic stats here, may I ask you if sales this May have been as usual for you? I haven't had a sale in 21 days, which is a 1-in-110 event for my portfolio, so I wonder if it's just bad luck or something platform related. Thanks a lot!

I've noticed a big drop lately too. I've been selling a lot of domains at wholesale prices for the last 5-6 months. On average I'd probably see a sale every day or two, and going 5 days or more without a sale is quite rare. However, from around April 22nd onwards I have been experiencing 2-3 weeks of no sales at a time, which is the longest I've ever gone without a sale for wholesale domains.

Something definitely seems off.

Thanks for sharing! I'm usually averaging a sale every 4 to 5 days, so very odd.

But we still don't know if it's a general market or a platform thing.

Check your landers one by one. I noticed that a bunch of mine were not resolving, despite having the proper nameservers set.

I asked support about it and was told that "it shouldn’t happen too often," and that if it does happen, all I need to do is "resubmit the listing."

When I asked how I am supposed to know that any of hundreds or thousands of domains have randomly stopped resolving properly after they had already been working at some point, I was basically told that "it’s up to the seller to keep checking and making sure their listings are working properly."

And this is the least of it. I pointed out three separate issues, all of which were their fault, and I received an excuse for every single one of them. They basically acted like it was "glitchy by design". Towards the end they even tried gaslighting me into thinking it was my fault after they had already admitted earlier that it was theirs

It’s ridiculous.
