The best registrar in the business for 2020

Registrars that got less than 2 votes from last time were not included, Uniregistry being acquired by GoDaddy is not included.

GoDaddy, Epik, Namesilo, Dynadot, based on this newest poll, polls last few years, poll on that site. Those 4 seem to be the favorites. Try them out, see what you like.

I find it awfully suspicious that name silo hot so many votes on that compared to this poll and Dynadot and Epik go so few compared to this poll something is not adding up.

Totally agree, if it was Epik leading by a huge, I would not suspect anything. Because Epik is the best registrar.

Yeah if your implying that we have voted WRONG, so you can take that and shove it, wherever you like. That poll anyone can vote, no one knows the identity of anyone and you can pick more than one registrar if you like, you have at it.

This is the answer why we see somewhat different results imo. First, different audience. TheDomains visitors don't see a lot of epik promotional posts, do they? In 2016 United States presidential election for example, different states selected different candidate. Second, an opportunity to select >1 registrars. Third, any registrar may or might send a lot of employees to vote and it would be technically legitimate. It would be wise to do so for Epik (if not yet done), as this NP poll shows that employee votes are critical for them, they are currently losing this NamePros poll without employee votes.
The only thing that the 2nd poll proves is that {Godaddy,Dynadot, Epik, NameSilo} are preferred by professional registrants. Which is expected.
The nature of the external polls platform does not allow any audit and allows unlimited employee voting. Which by itself means that it may be good for non-commercial questions (How many domains do you have?) or for mainstream polls with 1000s of participants, where any artificial votes like those of employees would be statistically insignificant. For the purposes of Top/Best Registrar poll, this forum software appears to be more adequate imo.

I would venture to guess that many NamePros members aren't readers of TheDomains either, I have never heard of it until the poll was linked to. And even with the link here how many NPers actually clicked though to vote?

That said it is interesting to see how the votes correlate to the advertiser, I didn't notice that when I was on the site because I use an adblocker. Now I am the first to point out correlation is not the same as causation but that is interesting none the less.

I tend to agree I think the NP format is better there is no perfect solution. Even when it comes to stopping employee votes all NP can do is identify votes of known employees, we are still blind when it comes to unknown, unbadged employees here.

Good point, I didn't even realize it said favorite I was just thinking of this thread with the title being best.

Like I said its not a direct causation but I think it's possible that advertiser relationships may have an effect on who your long time readers use as a registrar, at least that's what the advertisers are hoping for when the pay you for an ad. That said the registrar will still have to do things right to keep those customers so it's not a guaranteed thing.

There is bound to be some overlap for sure, but at the same time some uniqueness to both NP and TheDomains as with any two sites really no matter how similar they may be.

Yes, the price Name.com it remains the standard for many years. But the price of domain renewal is incomparable to ours. We will try to not "spam", but at the same time offer a good price and service.

No Epik has been spamming this forum heavily since the last 1-2 year. Hence I am less active on NP forums for the last couple of months. Spam kills every forums if nobody stops spammers. I hope a moderator reads this.

I did not mislead anyone. I said I don't renew domains. $8.25 is one of the lowest transfer fee for .com. That is what I said and what I actually do. I transfer my domains, don't renew. I don't work for a registrar, am not obligated to promote a particular company.

Someone must stop spam of Epik. Their spam is beyond a normal person can tolerate. I am getting attacked as I said the truth: Epik is spamming this forum.

Just because you don't like it dosen't automatically make it spam. Rob and the other Epik staff provide more value to this forum . Does it include links to Epik services, in some cases where appropriate. I have never once seen someone link to an Epik product unrelated to the topic at hand, it's always on point and in some cases are to things I never knew they offered.

Spammers indiscriminately post garbage that brings no value. Epik brings on point commentary that may include a link to relevant products as appropriate. HUGE difference. But you'd rather let your personal feelings get in the way of the facts it seems.
