Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
exactly, plus some yummy drop lists from others giving up too early on their actually good names :)
This got me laughing. Smart man... Very smart. I remember using this to my advantage for hemp names lol

Why limit yourself at all? I would pull it from the marketplace, create a micro site, and then play hardball with a co.uk interested party down the road using the sale of VrMovies as a place to start your discussion.

I think your pricing is fine.

My personal method for that name VRmovies.co.uk,
Start out at 1.5k now, (as a min offer not BIN) and add to that every time we get closer to real vr movies in the market place.
It is a online marketplace name so until it has a market to fill, it has less value except to other investors to will hold it for the long term when the market for it's use is there.
It does all depend on your overall strategy because you do need to get a roi on some names to keep it all afloat. If you price everything for max possible valuation, you will be waiting for some time. Keep yourself flexible. This allows you to sell a name once in a while when the need arises.
I think it could take 4 years or more to have a value over 20k.

Having the HMDs is one thing. Having content is the other half of the equation. Right now we have neither.... YET.
It will be 2/3 years before you will see any serious VR Movies enter the market.
Just VR Shorts.

VrMovies.co.uk

I like this domain a lot, it's one of my favorites to watch because the keywords are so perfect and I'm curious to see how the .co.uk extension does. Personally, I think this domain name will do really well.

Someone mentioned developing it yourself, that's not a bad idea to get the ball rolling. It could be something simple, yet professional like a website with HQ embedded VR videos from youtube that could be watched with a cardboard headset.

Show attachment 14991 A lot of funny meme's for this.

These memes and the way in which try to ridicule this new human interface technology remind me of a bygone era. Some do not learn the lesson.

'In 1979, Apple was planning a business computer and arranged a visit with Xerox Parc research center to view some of their experimental technology. It was there they discovered the mouse, invented by Douglas Engelbart while he was working at SRI International (SRI); the mouse had subsequently been incorporated into the graphical user interface (GUI) used on the Xerox Alto. During an interview, Engelbart said "SRI patented the mouse, but they really had no idea of its value. Some years later it was learned that they had licensed it to Apple for something like $40,000."[1] Apple was so inspired by the mouse they scrapped their current plans and redesigned everything around the mouse and GUI.'

Anyway you know that marketing and politics thing is to speak of one, even if it is wrong.

And Time People is not the neighbour of the fifth.

If you know how to build a Wordpress site then you know how to build the site. Host the domain and install with WP and a video showcase theme, then start blogging video posts embedded with videos from Youtube and Vimeo. Make the site look pro with no ads (yet) and promote the heck out of it, let the people share your site for more traffic.

I bet if you got into the game now before the rest you could even rule in search engines too, for sweet keywords like "vr movies", which I am certain will have a high search volume:
https://www.google.com/trends/explore#q="VR movies"

Don't let the sudden dip at the end startle you, that's because August is just starting.

I'm lost when it comes to producing a site. I keep telling myself one day I'll learn.

So am I. But I use Wix.com. I can really recommend it. It's literally just dragging and dropping stuff to make the site look like you want. It's even fun actually.

Wix is trash. And the business model of most free website builders is to upsell for basic features you would take for granted elsewhere. Wix is particulary bad for SEO, best to stay away.

You can can start at Worpress.com for free and test drive it, and export it all to a full WP site later. That gives way more flexibility and functionality if you want it.

Back on topic, what is a vr movie?

Lately I have tried Cardboard on quite a few people that have never heard of VR - they are all amazed and most see it as a way to visit places. Most ask if you can create this yourself so cams may be a big market.

Well I tried wordpress. It took me hours to figure out how to do stuff that took me 3 seconds to figure out in Wix. I even tried hiring so called Wordpress experts to make me a site according to my requests. But not even they could make it happen. So finally I just made it myself in wix. Took me a few hours.

Maybe you are some sort of coding genius, but alot of us don't give a shit about that and just want an intuitive way to make the site we envision.

I will echo Flipourium and say that every domainer should test the water in developing.
It's not as bad as you might think, especially with wordpress.
Like anything, to do more, you need to know more but if you never get your hands dirty, you might as well be that box of rocks.

The big plus for the last 10 years is that there are online information sites that can help you with just about anything.

HTML programming is not hard. I was doing code before html and it was probably harder for me in some ways knowing code before html. After I realized is was just like any structured language, it has rules. Once you get a taste of that, there is no limit. Of course now with database driven sites, html/css/php is what to know but you need to know none of it to do WP. But it helps when doing custom tweeks.

Everything in life online is not free....
sometimes you do need to do just a little work. You only learn it once.

Knowledge is forever.

I encourage everyone to do at least one WP site. You just never know where that knowlage gained will serve you down the road.
When you need it, it's to late to learn it.
