Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

@Want2learn

With domains, if you have to explain to people what it means, its often not a good sign. Im sure 80%+ people on here would either never have heard of the word or dont know what it means.

I am not sure about the shortened "Lomo" either? If this is an accepted abbreviation for the word "Lomograph" by Lomographists (my invented word (y)), then it might have a little value when them, but I personally think you will struggle with it. As @NamePov said, there are words that are much more common and popular that would be a better option.

Dont get disheartened by this, its not easy to to just understand what words to choose, and even when you do, you more than likely find they are taken. Emailing existing owners and paying that little bit more is the way to go, which is also tough because most of us do this as a hobby and that money often has to go to those pesky bills we all have.

I do understand your frustration but it all comes with experience, the trick is to not register too many names and be very selective because if you dont, that frustration will only get worse come renewal time.

Feel free to PM me if you arent sure about a name and I will happily try and help mate.

That makes sense. I think that the explaining part can be tricky though. At least in this respect . . . unless we are in to photography or cameras we would not be familiar with lomography. I hand reg specific learning disability, and I had posters arguing with me about the name. They kept objecting to specific. I kept explaining it is the nationally, universal, technical, proper name of an exceptionality/disability as set for by IDEA, federal legislation. I had to explain my domain name bc it is unfamiliar to most people. IIRC I had a few PMs from posters that have children with a specific learning disability, and they got it! Sorry, my point is this . . . I agree with the broader point about explaining domain names, generally not the way to go! However, sometimes it is necessary. Unless you never want to deal with niche domains, which all of us are doing here. If any of you asked my wife if she was entered in VrGoggles she would have no clue. Furthermore if you told her you would sell her VrGoggles dot com for $100 she would say heck to the no. All of us would do it in a new york minute!

Is it acceptable to go from lomography to lomo or not? Yes!

Whoa dude.... that's some pretty artsy stuff there.

I personally don't like it.

I like VReyeDr waaaay more!

I'm starting to wonder if you're actually some secret mastermind and owner of a bunch of incredible names who is bored with the day to day life of being a multi-zillionaire and has resorted to posting mediocre to downright rubbish just to watch us toil over said names and try to justify our opinions etc., when in actual fact the only purpose of the post is to mess with our minds for your own personal enjoyment!!!

You sneaky dog! I'm on to you!!
LMAO
LOL . . . would be funny!

I thought for sure VrLomo dot com would get ALOT of love.

Lomography- 8000000 searches
"Lomography" 8000000 searches as well
Photography- 4.2 billion searches
"Photography" 4.2B searches!

Good morning.

Woke up to a $100 offer on SEDO. Problem is, SEDO takes $60 so I would only get $40 bucks.... The majority of my sales in the past have been private. I've only sold two names on SEDO and both were at a price where I didn't care about the premium because I was making good money.

1). Should I start an auction and if it stays and sells at a hundred bucks just deal with it?

2) Should I just send a counter offer and see what happens?

3) Should I send a message to the buyer notifying the buyer of a price that I think is more acceptable and letting them know that I will be putting it to auction if they don't adjust their offer?

4) Does anybody know of a way of getting In touch with the bidder to ask him/her to do a private transaction instead? (SEDO monitors the messaging between bidder and seller..... I'm sure it's to prevent people making private deals offsite, so if I were to propose that via messaging I'm quite certain the message would not be allowed to be sent )

Cheers!

Funny, I was just thinking the same thing... Should be interesting to compare the .network sale with the VR related .com... ;)

PS - This also shows the "virtual" kw still has some legs...

I think, generally, both are valued for the tenth part of the com, so in first class keywords, I think they can be good investment.

If it's not the best of the best I would not go in for them.

Imho

Who here's excited for E3?

It's usually around E3 season that I get inquiries for my VR domains. It's usually also the time when I ramp up my outbound and social media marketing. Even though Oculus and XBox VR won't have a presence this year, I still expect some big VR announcements; especially now that there more big names in VR than there were last year.

Did you receive plenty of interest on your VR domain names during last year's E3?

In my particular case, it was not much, I hope it will change this year.

http://techcitynews.com/2017/06/07/vr-firm-evr-holdings-raises-4-7m-aim/

EVR Holdings has raised £5m through the placing of shares on AIM.

Founded in 2005, EVR raised a total of £4.7m in net proceeds.

Anthony Matchett, CEO of EVR, commented: “The proceeds of this successful placing will be used to fuel the global expansion of our business, to reach more artists, more partners and in turn, more consumers.

“We’ll be investing further capital into our original content as we seek to grow our vast library of once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Back!

Took a bit of a short break from the madness. One must step back sometimes to see things clearly and not get sucked into manufactured value and expectations. I was getting a bit trigger happy for a second there. It's easy to see only what you want to see when when you spend so much time immersed in one framework.

Friendly reminder to everyone and myself......

Have a plan, have a budget, stick to the domain fundamentals and keep it simple(y)

Oh no. I'm still inVR. I'll never be VROut! VR remains the best virtual investment option by a long shot. Just took a break to relax, research, reevaluate and plan next moves. Did a lot of renewals too lol. But... " I can see clearly now the rain is gone:xf.grin:"

Besides, I don't just love VR for domain names, I'm a big enthusiast in the technology itself and the industry as a whole. Still remember Virtual Boy. Can't wait to see what the years bring!
