Virtual Reality Domains (VR)

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Im betting big bucks on VR domains have a great future and with the big boys buying up VR companies, mainstream is a stones throw away.....

Lots of VR+keyword.com taken years ago and I noticed this sale a week or so back -

VRTechnology.com $3688

This was a steel and I can soon see everything from VRPoker / VRCasinos / VRShopping / VRBrowsing / VRTours / VRWorlds / etc etc....having a high price tag even now at the start of VR hitting mainstream...

I have just paid $x,xxx for a name but will not be showcasing as the domain is in escrow at present....

Feel free to showcase your VR domains If you like...

Cheers

That's not bad at all mate..

I just got a direct (non forum) offer of $400 for my domain: freeVRapp.com

It's the 1st direct offer I've received for this domain, But I think I'll hold onto it and wait for a better offer? Because I have to renew it within the next week or so before it expires anyway..

Can you feel it? VR is getting hotter and hotter by the day. By the end of the year it's gonna be white hot.

Hold onto your hats girls and boys because it's gonna get steamy in here!:xf.grin::ROFL::xf.grin::greedy:

Definitely ! everyday more and more news and project in VR, it's clearly accelerating and the best ? it's not over :)

I've been approached by someone in the US about 2 domains VR+Keyowrd and Keyword+VR Domains I reg'd. Negotiated to low x,xxx but not yet agreed.

There are already lots of TM's registered with several permutations of the Keyword, for example; Keyword+S, Keyword+ABC, ABC+Keyword etc. This being the case I can't foresee any infringement as such.

Is it worth approaching a couple of potential buyers/companies who use the Keyword in their business name or trademark before I do the deal or do you think this could jeopardise the potential sale?

Possibly hard to answer without knowing the name. PM me if you want my opinion on whether you should hold out or take the money.

Congrats by the way! (y)

nice job

if tyou're wondering whether people your being approached by could be same as the ones you're thinking of approaching.. then for sure its possible. unless you can somehow link the person making offer, his name etc, to some sort of domainer... through other domains he owns etc.

otherwise, its hard to know value or tm potential without names.

If you're happy with the price negotiated....stick with the deal you've negotiated

Once you bring in a third person to the party, (and potentially a trademark infringement), then a whole new can of worms has been opened....

I have made this exact mistake once before and had the whole deal fall through and my domain name become unsalable.

Thanks for the advice.

Can you elaborate on what happened?

Thanks for the advice.

Can you elaborate on what happened?

In a nutshell.... I was certain there was no trademark infringement... the company in question told me there was and that I should surrender the name to them.

I told them to pound sand and insisted that they are welcome to purchase it but there's no trademark infringement.

I had the name parked at a parking site and almost immediately the parking site sent me a letter saying I was no longer allowed to park there... that they had been contacted by the company and now felt that my name was a "possible" trademark infringement.

At that point, I ceased all transactions. I am currently looking into whether or not I have a leg to stand on. In my heart I believe it was just scare tactics by the big company, but it still made my sale go away.... if I had not been greedy, I would've been able to make the sale to a third-party in good confidence.... after being in contact with the company and essentially being threatened... I could not in good conscience make a deal on that name

This is great news for direct navigation through domains and WebVR.

WebVR for the win.

"For VR developers (according to Damon Hernandez, 3D web and immersive technology developer for Samsung), mobile devices and WebVR are the platforms of the future for VR developers. He cited the ease of distribution and forthcoming support by major software players as the draw to WebVR."

I’ve got WebInVR, don’t know what the potential is of that but I’ve recently renewed it for another year after doing a search and seeing WebInAR generates 102,000,000 exact matches on Google.

Seems quite a big thing, all be it not for Augmented Reality reasons.
