After google decision is it worth investing in xyz extension? Will it's value increase?
I understand points you are making but I am referring to fact that look at the many other nTld's and the reg fee potential renewal costs yet people still role with them. As someone mentioned here most of them maybe just for certain industry or something along that path and .xyz is suppose to kind of like .com is now, right?
But then you look at .xyz it's much cheaper to hand register and renew even comparing to nTld's which (irrelevant to .com or other established extensions) it still has to compete with..
.xyz is so cheap and yet people still aren't picking up all the keyword domains, If I invested a lot of money in .xyz names I would've been very worried and would look to sell mine as soon as I can. Anyway that's just my opinion!
I don't have full information on all .xyz sales but according to this post
''The highest .xyz sale is deals.xyz so far for $8113, followed by three another 4 figure sales (cloud.xyz for $6600, customer.xyz for $1999 and ccc.xyz for $1210). There is no more public 4 figure sale for a .xyz and there is no 5 or 6 figure sale at all. The best one word .xyz domains are sold at auction by Namejet and despite of the intensive promotion, most of these names are sold for 2 figures or low 3 figures, which is a typical registration price of other nTLDs.''

Is not looking good, if you ask me..
Even if .xyz sales were to pick up don't you think there will be any new Tld's released to compete with already existing ones and especially with .xyz?
This is the exact hype that keeps people buying. Not only is FindCoupon.biz available, but there is no who-is record on findcoupon.xyz, which means you probably just bought it. Yep, a $250.00 offer, lol. It's these stories why people keep buying.
I look at this as $.99 a domain to gamble. Four hands of blackjack lost in a row is $100. That is also 100 xyz domains. Out of 100 xyz domains, you all think doubling or tripling your money is not realistic?
I have a suggestion that might help you. Although expensive $35 per year via GoDaddy ( well worth it for your business) I just checked for you and DigitalReach.io is available -this is a GREAT tech extension and being used by many startups now-Good Luck.I got DigitalReach.xyz , my newly registered company(Digital Marketing Consultancy/Agency), was looking for a good domain for it lately, So i Got DigitalReach.xyz ... looks good?...any better extensions? (.com/.co is not available and will be expensive), and i Got DigitalReach.agency as well

If you could please look into your crystal ball and let me now my future in the next 5 to 10 years I'd love to here that too.
Everyone that is pro .xyz has a shiny new "Joined 2015" under their avatar. Now I'm not knocking opinions of new members, but to shrug off the opinions of people that have seen the trends and new extensions come and go is very foolish.
.XYZ is one of the few new extensions worth investing in. Many reasons, but let me point to only one of them: the .XYZ registry is the only one with a coherent promotion strategy, not the least of which is their attractive pricing. This is long term, of course, that is with no expectation of substantial profit for years to come. It's no threat to .COM, to be sure. This said, Google has shown the way and others will follow: .XYZ is a viable alternative to a .COM address. I'm betting (see disclaimer below) this will catch on, albeit slowly.
Congratulations!
Thats a great startup name if .xyz hitsHello,
Current bid for "Cloud.xyz" is $6969 at Namejet!

Thanks for the advice-we already own institutional quality names like eEcomomist.com among others but I understand your point-I just don't agree with it. ( and we can afford the renewal fees)No I didnt, but it really makes no difference, companies are not interested in what Google do, they have 12,000 domains, do you see any hype with other extensions, no, because there isnt any....if Tesla went out and rebranded their company using an XYZ, that would at least mean more than 1 company liked the extension, but they wont, and Google wont rebrand their business on abc.xyz, Google.com will remain
domainers new to the industry started registering 100's of .CO name names when google got G.co..and that faded away like all new extensions.....all those names are available now as well.....and .CO is shorter and close to .COM, and actually had some meaning (Company, Community, Corporate etc)
What makes you think a strange extension like XYZ will be different
Stick to .COM..its tried and tested and its really all the world knows, besides cctld's of course.....just trying to save you those renewal fees next year

I saw that guys remark also re 2015. We were doing this when he was jumping out of school buses would be my guess in 2001. And thanks for the eEconomist.com tag-glad you noticed the name!If you think like a stock investor, .com is the Blue Chip Stocks and .xyz is the Penny stock. Penny stocks are very risky, but can have a great upside reward. I have some bucks to risk and started out in .xyz by winning an Ebay auction for a lot of 23 .xyz names for $5.50. I sold one on EBay one week later for $14.50 (demographics.xyz). Not a whole lot of money, but a 263% ROI, with 22 more names to liquidate.
I then looked around and saw there were some nice keywords and first names available still in .xyz, so I dropped a few hunderd and now own about 300 .xyz. Mainly for the flip...like penny stocks..get in and get out. I have no expectations of having a Candy.com type name, but it will provide a nice ROI overall for me.
Oh and whoever posted the snarky remark about those with 2015 NamePros memberships being the only ones to like .xyz, I have been investing in domains since 2004.
