Is .Shop/.online/ .xyz extension Good for domain Investing?

Recently I bought some domains: which is .shop, .online, and .xyz extension. But I'm confused about it. Is it a good decision for domain investing or not??

There is no much demand for these domains esp .shop.
I had few good .shop domains which the registry put on hold for many months. I had written multiple mails to them to release the domains and for the reason to put on hold but there was no response. Even the registrar couldn't get any response from them. Recently just 2 months before renewal they released the domains.
I have decided not to renew them and waste huge amount.
