I'v changed my mind. I think the USA should offer free or heavily subsidized healthcare for the poor and middle class.
I don't know if you are being sarcastic or you mean that.
I would like to see either Free healthcare for All or if someway were to drastically reduce cost of premiums without some how having to Subsidize premiums at the member level.
If there is subsidizing let be at the Company level, let the subsidizing go directly to the insurance companies and then they pass it a long by the way of really low premiums.
Right now if a couple making around $65k together don't qualify for any subsidized premiums.
That just making $16 an hour each, here in Cali that's basically minimum wage.
And the worst part is if you make above that amount you either don't get any subsidizing or you have to pay back your subsidize credit if you make more then you claimed during the calendar year by way of a raise in pay or some other influx in income like selling a domain for a large sum.
I don't qualify for any subsiding right now but my premium would be about $1,200 to $1,500 a month
IF I had health insurance. That's just me, my wife has medicare.
So something has to be done about healthcare sooner or later.
To revise this a little,
I would be very happy if Medicare was for All but at a price, my wife still pays a small premium for her medicare of $135 a month,
Her medicare is actually is pretty great. Just about everything is covered and her scripts are very low co-pays and she has no co-pays for most of her doctor visits.
She basically has a Platinum healthcare.
I would love to have what she has and I would be willing to pay for it, like $300 to $500 a month would be just fine.
