It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it. B-)

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
.pro is still a solid hold at this point with increasing registrations.

New Zealand (properties.co.nz) was sold in 8,000 USD and .pro is global, so it should be worth higher, due to it is good for making PRO any online business from every place in the World.

Also PROperties(.)PRO sounds really nice!

May we know who is the bidder? :gl:
I'd rather buy properties.co.nz than the .pro
That sale was probably to an end user from New Zeland.
Properties is a geo target keyword which suits mostly with ccTLD
IMO I don't think it fits with .pro

It's a decent offer, it can go higher for sure but if you want to keep a sales flow I don't think it's too low. Same range as recent .pro sales. Property dot pro it's a lot better and another story so maybe you can squeeze a couple hundred more but I would personally sell. GL!

Thx for the feedback.
I personally think the plural is much better then the the singular.

Thx for the info on properties.co.nz !
I agree, I love the alliteration that comes with!
And think the bidder is from Russia, hence his name sounds like it's from there...

Properties (dot) pro is very brandable IMO.
And it's a global generic TLD, so you can use it for any country...

Anyway thx for the feedback so far guys!

I wouldn't buy .co.nz, the .pro is far more brandable and a stronger url imo.

You are talking as .pro is so well known in the world.... How can it be so brandable when you have to do with a very generic and common word? I repeat, for a country target business the respective ccTLD of the country is much more better than .pro

Never been a big fan of .co, I would buy the argument more if it was just .nz

properties.nz - ok! good!
properties.co.nz - really?
properties.pro - ok! good!

Properties.co.nz is worth far more than Properties.pro to an end user. Why?

1.) .CO.NZ is heavily used and preferred by end users in at least one place. .PRO is not the preferred extension or heavily used anywhere.

2.) There are far more buyers for quality .CO.NZ than .PRO. In New Zealand .CO.NZ is the most popular extension by far.

3.) For a term like properties it makes way more sense in a ccTLD than a .PRO.

.NZ is reserved by the registry. Only .co.nz is available for registration.

Thank you bmugford!

.co.nz just sounds complicated to me, but if it is adopted and used in that area than go with it.

This thread is all about .PRO!

So compare *.com.au vs *.com.au
*.co.nz vs *.co.nz
etc.

We were comparing .pro with ccTLDs for geo target businesses.
Of course the thread is about .pro, that is what we are doing, discussing about .pro

1. Just an example of enduser: saltlakepro.com

2. Another examples:
nyc.properties.pro
properties.pro/nyc

Any questions???

That "pro" you highlighted stands for property and not professional as in the .pro case.

The domain property .pro have a good chance to be sold in the US for the only reason, internet is very used and people may be familiar with .pro
Anyway, if I'd have to choose, for a US based business, from .pro and .us for keywords like property I'd go straight with .us
That's my opinion, you have yours.

I'm sorry but the registry of .pro already has chosen the meaning of .pro :)

I agree. Maybe if it was dot NZ. But CO really waters it down.

Total .pros registered increased by 4.1% in October 2012 to 144,477. Registrations are up 91.3% year on year, the highest percentage since September 2009. Average daily WHOIS searches were up 2.7% in October 2012 to 92,900. RU Center is now the the biggest .pro registrar with 22,497 compared to 21,949 for Encirca. Encirca had been the biggest .pro registrar for 3 years.

Has anyone received notice from Encirca concerning invalid registration requirements. If so can someone explain the easiest way to comply with the registration or is this a crack down on people that have registered with business license.

It's crazy to think that people have been allowed to sign up with business license and it was actually promoted on the Encirca website until recently when the registry says that it will no longer be accepted.

Anyway your thoughts are appreciated as I'm trying to get better informed on this issue and to advise a few people that I know that are in this situation.
