I noticed that SSN.mobi sold for $855 USD today on Sedo.

It's not mine, but I have SSI.mobi, which has 3X the ovt, so I'm encouraged by this sale.

Maybe it's because the letters are that of a nuclear submarine class or social security numbers??? I don't think in this instance OVT matters too much!

Top acronym for SSI is "Supplemental Security Income "

They're both pretty popular terms, only in the US. I think the ovt ranking does matter on both of these. The Wordtracker too.

SSN.mobi selling for $855 is an excellent sales price (for the Seller) in the current aftermarket environment IMHO ... do you know who purchased the domain name? Comparatively, and as an potential undeveloped referenced acronym, I'd say SSI.mobi is approx. worth undeveloped / in a super "Quick Sale" - $245 - $287.50+ of SSN, IMHO. Unique long-term development of an applicable SSI.mobi mobile website may be the the better encouragement here, in my personal view!

Respectfully, I think you are way off on your valuation. I've already had 2 offers for $1500, and turned both down. It's not for sale and I wasn't asking for appraisals, was merely commenting that the sale of SSN.mobi is a good sale, and further bodes well for SSI.

I'd personally pay more for the SSN version, as well ... same reasonings, IMHO ... and also because I have actually used the acronym "SSN" on many, many occassions (and have never, in my best recollection, used the term / abbreviation "SSI").

I see it as a normal price, not excellent, in the current market. There are right now quite a few lll.mobi on sedo auctions that could help to compare when terminated.

I saw lll.mobi jumping in price for whatever letters. The price for not premium letters is maybe slowing down a bit. As people were simply looking for lll.mobi, it would appear logical to me. But the price for good letters, acronyms could still be increasing.

I think the price of LLL.mobi is still so low just because too many are offered for sale now.

Look at the useless LLL.eu , very few for sale and so their price goes up to high xxx at least for every ugly combination, despite as italian I can confirm how .eu is almost useless since every nation of the EU has still its own ccTLD

I do not have any LLL.mobi but happy that most of the domainers are busy at the LLL.market discussion.

Therefore, I can grab more generics .mobi under commercial value with fewer competition. My collection will be almost completed at end of this month. :santa:
