I got an e-mail from Pool.com wanting to verify whether I had allowed my domain to be listed on their site, and gave me the e-mail address of the "seller".

Since I am the registrant, they wanted to make sure I had authorized this, which of course, I did not.

I thought it was slightly odd. Has this happened to anyone else?

Geezus. :o

Did you recognize the seller's email address, and has Pool yet offered an explanation?
No, this has never happened to me. :imho:

All the best, Mr. Galel.

Could be someone just put the wrong extension
or misspelled, putting the name plural instead of
singular or vice versa.

@Jeff - Thanks! I did get the seller's e-mail address, and have sent off an e-mail to him.

@Phil - Agreed. Mistakes can happen, and for now I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.

I have done that once before when listing a name at afternic. Luckily I caught before there was any bids. That would have been awkward. :notme:

Turns out that the person sold the domain who sold it to me. He was very sorry for the mistake.

A good reminder to keep all your WHOIS updated! :tu:

Ouch, might be more than a typo with that one.
