SILENT auction at TRAFFIC WEST - The RUNNING COMMENTARY thread - NP REPORTERS NEEDED!

First of all, kudos to acc for the original idea suggested in the .mobi forum.

The rationale for this thread is many fold:

1. The vast majority of us do not have access to the silent auction area - it is passworded and apparently only accessible to TRAFFIC West attendees (at least not before March 10).

2. The vast majority of domains for sale at TRAFFIC are in the silent auction - and some of them are high profile gems.

3. There are bound to be several NP members who would wish to provide running commentary when interesting bids come in - and the value thereof would be multiplied many times if it's all in one thread so people know where to find it on NamePros

4. We will not clutter the rest of the forum with identically themed threads

So who wants to be our citizen reporter(s)?

Do you think that the prices will be so out of whack that the $499 counting towards purchases won't make much of a difference?

I would be tempted at a couple of names myself but think the $499 fee going towards purchase won't have much of an impact.

I know that there are many good names listed there with very small reserves and some with no reserves.

See if you can find a few from the master list with 1-5k on them or no reserve that interest you.. then ask some one with access if you can get a reserve price on them. It might be well worth your time to at least check it out since the $499 does go towards the purchase price.

Note that in previous silent auctions there was virtually no activity until a few hours before the close time. Every domain I had an interest in received multiple bids the last day.

what does "Live Auction" mean now? when I searched my names from the moniker they are listed as Live Auction.

Domains that didn't sell in the live auction were moved to the "Live Auction" section of the silent auction.
