Just wondering what the general thoughts are about whether the recent trend to legalize marijuana will boost the prices of pot-related domains?

Grass...yes use it. 420...a number that every pot smoker in the world will recognize!

My advice would be to slow down! Potdens.com just got registered yesterday. You're already adding keywordpotdens.com.

The aftermarket is where is at and I'm quietly stalking one, mwahaha!

That's what I get for getting my work done early. :D

I like some of these more than others, but your right. Slow grasshopper.

If club 64, which is ironic that they use the hyphenated domain version of the dot com. Most are posting against that. I read both ways.

What are your development plans? Are you going to have unique articles for each site. Like Keith said, Slow Down
I know how hard it is, I had over 300 names once, they are still all in sedo trash bin. WTF was I thinking. One well developed site is worth 20 crap sites with no relevant content. I have a list of names I want to register, but what I have is it, and buying club64 names is asking for trouble, are the names you reg'd previously indexed either in google or YahOO? Instead of buying more names, invest in content for the ones you have. I have switched mine to sedo for a week just to get them listed and see how the indexing of my sites is going.
Ganja academy is pathetic, but I am sure i have done more stupid things than you ever will. Cost me alot of ching ching. Some names on my wish list all .com Blazing1 BudBuffet
MarijuanaBudCafe GanjaFm Bud247.net
Endless waste of money unless you have a development plan. The first two names you mentioned you boughton Dec21 are still godaddy parked pages. That wont impress anyone.
I regret not buying 3 names instead of 300 and taking that money and investing in 3 names.Cost me thousands of dollars. Instead of spending 10$ on a couple more domain names, invest in a couple articles, I have bought lots of articles from namepro members. i reccommend WeavingThoughts.com Aaskey has even written a marijuana related article for me. Money well spent. You do have some good names, Ganjadens, ganjabars, awesome dude. Don't let them go to sh!t
Develop them, create a few backlinks, become a member of some marijuana forums

I wanted to buy a few domains but I keep putting my C card away, as will we have to wait years for anything to happen with these domains? I'd rather buy one great domain maybe not in this niche and develop it and make something instead of parking and waiting..the domains I wanted have been taken by a few on this thread I had a list of 20 and only three remain so I'm thinking on the right track on domains but can't pull the trigger to buy...as who's the enduser's on these domains? surely the .nl owners would've taken these available .com domains as they have weed legal there? or am I thinking way off.

I think it's reasonable to speculate on this a bit. I'm new to domaining but I've purchased a few names I think may hold value in the future.

My thinking on this niche is reg 4-5 and buy an aftermarket domain, just to keep your hand in the pot so to speak.

I wouldn't recommend buying 50-100 of these domains and Im not sure if anyone has but when or if you buy an aftermarket name, make sure it is an investment as well as a domain related to this niche and that way you can sell on and make a couple of $xxx in the future.

To be honest with my aftermarket buy I know that near everyone in the UK who likes this kind of thing knows what my domain means, I asked a few people at work yesterday who don't even use it and all of them said the same thing so at least I know there is a possible UK market, globally? well I will have to wait and see what you guys think when I come to post it.

All good anyway for the price I smoked it out for. :kickass:

Cheers

I am with you. Its hard to resist as you all know. My plan are to dominate keyword wise. If it were six months from now, I think I may not be able to get any of those (minus the club64tickets which a bud urged me to get, but not sure about.)

Read this:
Exact match domains and close matches to important keywords are still important in SEO. When you have multiple important keywords you can choose to operate across various exact match domains. Google is however looking at ways to see if this exact match represents brand names and topic authorities or just someone that grabbed the domain early enough (EMD update). (Score: +multiple –single). So...give it content value and the search engine will act kindly.

If you search those exact words, look how many article highlight them. It is becoming nomenclature (pot dens).

None here would reg'd MarijuanaDens.com, CannabisDens.com? ;)

I feel that GanjaAcademy, PotAcademy are great branding and don't think I will have trouble moving them. Remember, if you read the article on these "cannabis universities", they are only a few days long which means MANY people could open up and sell this without an advanced degree required. Unlike current my field.

This thread has really come alive, love it.:)

...find it interesting that I make a comment regarding the date of the article and you take exception to it. It was actually a compliment of sorts.

I was using the date actually to reference the dramatic changes in accepting the positive climate that has transpired in those 2 and one half years regarding the issues and you seem to have taken that as a personal affront to you.

So dry yer eyes, curly, it's not about you all the time...

...I dunno if it is true or not as I haven't corroborated it yet, but Chuck Mason of bgdailynews.com (Bowling Green, KY) wrote that:

"Marijuana is spelled “marihuana” in all federal documents regarding legislation regulating the leafy plant."

When I read this I regged a few names. A few of them being:

MARIHUANAFORUM.COM
MARIHUANAMARKET.COM
MARIHUANANEWS.COM
MARIHUANASALES.COM

As it can pertain both to industrial hemp and its recreational sibling, I figured that it is worthy of speculation, especially when I paid under a buck per name thanx to Godaddy...

lots of names still available...
