Resellers:
- Low ball offers
- Want something for nothing or Asking the impossible requests
--- Dictionary Words for $100 - No more No Less
--- Taking in 2,000 Extensions
--- Godaddy Appraises for $1,000,000
--- Budget $1,000,000 but never buy anything or own junk names - Show off???
--- Total Budget $1,000,000 - Maximum budget per name is $1

End-Users:
- Buy names for reasonable prices
- Don't low ball
- Don't post lie request to show off

To me I sell the names at my price - I don't care if you are a Reseller or not.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

Unnecessary.

The forum is too niche for that. And namePros already provides Sales Landers to capture enduser transactions.

There is no need to clutter the forum with a marketplace section for endusers only. Plus, domainers would invade the section anyway.

I honestly don't get why buyer-requesters (and others) use vague terms like "reseller price," "wholesale," "liquidation price" and so on, when we have actual numbers โ€” from 0 to 9 โ€” to work with. These terms would only make sense if there were a standard, universally accepted pricing chart for domains (if we're talking about domains, for instance). Without that, using such terminology is, frankly, not very smart. If you want to buy for $100โ€“500, just say it. Why beat around the bush with meaningless labels?

I have been here 22 years - I know better than that

That's my point

Exactly.

People just copy cat other people posts so they can low ball you.

It's a bad idea, because the end users would start threads like send me your best name for an x company, budget $100. They will be able to negotiate or choose the lowest price. They will find domainers to sell them OK names for less.

Some smart end users already know places like Dynadot and Namecheap. I have liquidated names there that were purchased by end users and immediately started a website. They were not of course great names, but did the job for some end users that settle for less.

we need a system for serious domain requests, everything else should be viewed as junk.

Serious request system should be public. You post your request and every reply contains the name and price. You get to see one reply at a time and to see another you must say why you rejected the domain that was presented to you. No direct PM's. When we can see what they reject, we can decide if we should even bother sending our name and we can vote to close the whole thread too.

I think most of us here can relate very well to what you wrote. I don't even bother anymore to send any names to anyone that posts here.

Yes, agree with some of you, there needs to be a Pros section, where each request is strongly verified and publicly available everything, to know did the requester got interest, replied or he is just playing games to cause hand regs in newbies.
edit: to me seems like the owners of this great website are interested in those threads which already exist, where anyone with new unverified account can post any crap.

NP does not care. All they care is the number of members and threads they get more advertisers

Interesting concept ..but even after good amount of rejected domains some of us probably will stop reading the rejected domains and unrelated crap will start pouring in again

I can't edit my original post, but years ago I saw a site where people came to ask designers to compete and make them a logo (crowd spring). They basically would let a few designers submit a logo and based on your feedback, they got others to submit. They respected the designers time by doing this and it got those that wanted to waste time to just leave. Later on they implemented fees and other things to make sure to weed out people wasting time. Most of us don't bother sending names to people that request them even if they say their budget is infinite and we have the exact match name they want. This is how bad it has gotten.

This is what should happen in the Request To Buy Section

- Budget has to be clear - No $1-$10,000 allowed
- No DM - All sellers should reply in the post - So we know who submit Crap Names
- No one can buy the submit names except the OP - The OP has 24 hours to buy, after 24 hours other members can DM the sellers and buy the names
- Remove the section from Search Engine to protect the Sellers
- Each thread is only valid for 7 days - After 7 days the thread will be deleted by the system or the OP. Now we have threads that the OP never answered to the sellers and sellers keep "DM sent" crap names. There are a couple of Sellers always post "DM sent" regardless of the requirements.

Otherwise the Request to Buy Section is a Bad Jokes with all the ridiculous requirements and crap names submitted.

One way to combat low-quality (spammy) requests should be the ability to unilaterally lower the requester's rating if they fail to respond within a reasonable time to a suitable domain, or ifโ€”instead of declining politelyโ€”they start belittling the domain in private messages, acting like a judge or critic. There's a lot of toxic behavior among requesters, both publicly and in private conversations.

Also, there are some newbies come here and copy cat other requests, create a post and you never see them again.
People still post "DM sent"

What a waste of time.

Left a negative for a "buyer-requester" after 48h of no response. Gave prior warning via PM and thread (mod removed thread warning).

I took an example from one user:

I ignore 99% of requesters right away using the appropriate button. Instantly. I see the request and just ignore it, no reply. But I decided that if I do respond to someone, Iโ€™ll warn them upfront that they'll get negative feedback if they donโ€™t reply. You can also give a negative for a rude response. The crazy part is, itโ€™s not just newbies sending dumb requests โ€” even experienced users with high positive ratings do it. And they often ignore the modโ€™s warning about poorly written requests too. One way or another โ€” these are unserious types.

Some make a request and arrogantly say they "donโ€™t have time to respond to crap". Okay. But they can see in private messages that the domains are crap according to him (And what exactly counts as crap in the requesterโ€™s understanding is a whole other topic.). And you donโ€™t need to write much there โ€” there are YES and NO buttons. The rules should include a requirement to respond.
