The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I do feel that there should be a poll for these types of situations. We’re a community of many, not a dictatorship.

In this specific case, the community has spoken. We feel that removing the avatar is wrong. The complainant can vote but will be handily overruled.

If you want to discuss it further, you may start your own thread, but do not reply with off-topic posts in this thread.

So, by that you mean you won't allow a thread to turn into an off topic 117 page novella having nothing to do with the original post? Asking for a friend.

I say better yet we vote for new moderation since there's a literal coup happening...

It seems the mod team is saying it is not about majority. Anything that hurts the feelings of anyone on anything will be a reason for action, even if mod himself (themselves) disagrees (disagree). See in this threads where he (they) declares (declare) that the avatar was not bad, just there was a complaint ant that is what it takes.

And, 3 out of 200+ pros speaking against Riz, who clearly is a PRO, regardless of anyone else's opinion, was enough to take away his badge. And thinking? Well it took 2 to vouch for him, so 3 surely should be enough to remove the badge... Bulletproof logic...

The mods have been talking about empowering members for awhile now.

When members overwhelming show their will, it all of a sudden turns into a dictatorship.

So it's as simple as that? 'One' member can complain about anothers' avatar, and it's removed?? Oh boy, this should be interesting as there a 'lot' of avatars that any 'one' member can complain about, and puff it'll be removed! What a concept.

You son of a bitch you mean you are not Alan Alda? I told friends I did business with a celebrity.

I don't know I feel like the use of the B**** word is as bad as WTF.
Would you say that to your boss? I am offended ;)

A few things that may have been misunderstood:

We do not think what’s best for the community is for VIP members to leave because their avatar is not allowed. We do think that it’s best to work toward creating a more professional atmosphere. The community is already very professional, but it could be improved and many members tell us that each week. We’re working on it.

We want all members to treat each other the same way they would treat their boss (or that their boss wants to be treated). That would help to improve professionalism at NamePros.

We have quite a ways to go, and that has been made clear in this thread when multiple members will freely attack and threaten moderators like it’s nothing. If you will treat a moderator that way, then you will absolutely treat others that way, and we are going to work hard to put a stop to it.

We want everyone to be treated respectfully.

Almost feels like NP sent in some "consultants" to "clean up" in preparation for a sale.

I hope no one is offended by cubes. :)

Brad

I am offended you got the name DataCube.com and I missed out on it so I demand you change your user name.

I can see that it is a sensitive subject, I just wanted to say that person could have ignored/blocked Elad. We shouldn't cater to babies, isn't this an adult forum? People want to be able to express themselves and you (owner/master) should respect that. We're not Linked In, we're makers of Linked In, we're Name Pros. The boss and I tell each other "to go f#$k yourself" on a daily basis but I work in the tree business so I guess that's expected, lol. power to the people

Question to mods...

.X. said he is unable to post on any and all forums.

He has been a loyal member and contributor for 15+ years.

He said in that time he has never even had a warning.

So my question is -

Has he been blocked?
If so, why has he been blocked?

Thanks,
Brad

That's what I was wondering. If there are new owners or NP is looking to sell. Same with another company's attempt at a Wikipedia cleanup. Hard to sell with that kind of thing out there.

Not sure where all this boss stuff comes from. I haven't had a boss in 18 years. People that do this for a living don't have a boss.

I don’t treat my friends in the same manner that I treat my boss, although I don’t have one because domains earn me plenty.

Your boss is your means to making money. They control your future. NP is an avenue to gather information. The main source here isn’t about finance, it’s about sharing and learning.

Now, NP does facilitate sales agreements and should be very strict in that regard. I’d focus more on the business end vs a picture. Just my opinion.
