A few things that may have been misunderstood:

We do not think what’s best for the community is for VIP members to leave because their avatar is not allowed. We do think that it’s best to work toward creating a more professional atmosphere. The community is already very professional, but it could be improved and many members tell us that each week. We’re working on it.

We want all members to treat each other the same way they would treat their boss (or that their boss wants to be treated). That would help to improve professionalism at NamePros.

We have quite a ways to go, and that has been made clear in this thread when multiple members will freely attack and threaten moderators like it’s nothing. If you will treat a moderator that way, then you will absolutely treat others that way, and we are going to work hard to put a stop to it.

We want everyone to be treated respectfully.

I can see that it is a sensitive subject, I just wanted to say that person could have ignored/blocked Elad. We shouldn't cater to babies, isn't this an adult forum? People want to be able to express themselves and you (owner/master) should respect that. We're not Linked In, we're makers of Linked In, we're Name Pros. The boss and I tell each other "to go f#$k yourself" on a daily basis but I work in the tree business so I guess that's expected, lol. power to the people

That's what I was wondering. If there are new owners or NP is looking to sell. Same with another company's attempt at a Wikipedia cleanup. Hard to sell with that kind of thing out there.

Not sure where all this boss stuff comes from. I haven't had a boss in 18 years. People that do this for a living don't have a boss.

I don’t treat my friends in the same manner that I treat my boss, although I don’t have one because domains earn me plenty.

Your boss is your means to making money. They control your future. NP is an avenue to gather information. The main source here isn’t about finance, it’s about sharing and learning.

Now, NP does facilitate sales agreements and should be very strict in that regard. I’d focus more on the business end vs a picture. Just my opinion.

He threatened us in this thread, and that's exactly the type of inappropriate behavior that we’ve been discussing.

This thread has been very helpful in learning who is upholding the standards we’re discussing and who couldn’t care less about them.

Why don't you go a step further and blacklist everyone who voiced any type of disagreement here? That is no way to treat our bosses, i.e. NP administration! The forum will be much better place once you deal with all these renegades!!!

We’re talking about very different things. That quote is in reference to people being disrespectful, name calling, threatening, etc.

We have never issued a warning because we disagreed with someone. We encourage you to post when you disagree and explain why you disagree. The only thing we ask is that you do it respectfully and constructively.

For example, telling us that we “suck” is not respectful or helpful.

We want to have professional discussions where no one is disrespected, threatened, antagonized, etc.

That should be a reasonable goal to strive toward.

Accusing someone of threatening is serious matter. Some proof might be due, don't you think? I have been following this thread for few hours, haven't seen any disrespect and threatening beyond normal questioning of obviously bad decision (50+ votes, almost unanimous).

I agree with Brad that this is just making things worse. By the way, since the PRO thing was raised here, how does a Team get "PRO" badge?

Also, on the boss note, when I had one and I had to leave earlier for the day, I had to ask. Do you know what is the process for that here? Do we PM team before closing down the browser tab?

Before I leave discussion and go to sleep, I will underline some critical points:
All here love this community.
We can solve sensitive subjects with democratic solutions ( eg voting)
All the sides should listen the others.
If not, I think that the community will never be the same.
Let's work for a better forum, but as correctly mentioned, we are not LinkedIn. So, the goal is to remain a warm professional COMMUNITY. I fear that in the name of professionalism, we may lose the core, which is the main factor that differs this forum from others.
