I could be wrong, but since whatever the update was (may have been quite a long time ago now) that changed forum messaging from 'private messages' to 'conversations', I stopped seeing any way to delete a conversation from my inbox. Instead it only shows the option to 'leave conversation'.
I regularly use this 'leave conversation' to keep my inbox clean as I don't like hundreds/thousands of messages for domains wanted threads cluttering it up.
Now it has just come to my attention that whenever I leave a conversation, other members can see this. One member messaged me to say they found this a lack of professional courtesy (leaving the conversation without replying).
I post sales threads for domains wanted, and get hundreds of replies. I just don't have time or inclination to reply to them all, especially when the majority are - let me be flatly honest here - overpriced pigeon shit. Maybe you do. That's you. I rather opt to leave the conversation as the most expedient way of removing those from my inbox.
But it seems pretty dumb, in my opinion, if that's the only option to keep your inbox clear, if the other member can see this, and can leave them with the impression you are just being unprofessional. Think about it. Imagine, if in your gmail or other email inbox, some business sends you an email that for whatever reason you don't see a need to respond to, and when you delete the email it notifies the sender that you did so. Or further, imagine you receive a b2b mailer from a company you interacted with at a trade show, but have no real interest in their service, so after you glance at their postcard you throw it in the trash bin, then they instantly receive a notification that you did so. I rest my case.
Now, if there's another way to delete conversations, which I've missed, I'll take the blame, even though I would rather chalk it up to bad ux/ui, that I missed it.
