Just noticed that Oil.tv is up for sale at SEDO (presently $100)

The seller has conveniently decided not to include the fact that the premium is $1750

This is NOT GOOD for our brand as any unsuspecting buyer will have quite a shock in May next year.

What can we do to stop this shameful shysterism?

Sedo added a note recently all on .tv names for sale that warn people who are looking to buy names that they may be 'premium'. That's a step in the right direction. A link to ahead.tv would be a great addition as well.

Is he a Namepros member? He's going to f^ck up the TV brand and fill it with horror stories if some unsuspecting .commer buys this.

It was sold end of last year on Sedo for $1,050, not sure if the new owner is a Namepros member. Jimbo, I fully agree, any bad experience from any new buyer will only drive them away from .tv.

I would think the most likely buyer would be a big oil firm, BP, Shell etc who would use the domain to spruke their "newfound" green awareness.

They would hardly be worried by the premium price IMO. Having said that it is certainly against the spirit of disclosure to not let buyers know the premium renewal price.

Are you sure about that renewal fee? I still remember that the renewal fee for this name was $500, when it was available. I think DM might have changed the renewal fee lately. :-/

Ahead say $1750...

...and this is the godamned problem!

No one friggin knows - and no one who wants to enter the world .tv has ANY 100% infallible way of knowing.

Until people are straight about premiums in their listings or there is an officially recognisable place to go then .TV will always be seen as the cowboys of the domain world.

This is i NO way meant to be an offence to Polin - who is doing a sterling job and deserves a medal for the service he offers.

Perhaps AHEAD should become the official place - recognised by SEDO to check ALL .TV names for premium status?
