.tv Good move by Sedo!

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Just noticed this text next to one of my .tv names at Sedo:

******
DETAILS:
Domain Name ******.TV without content.

Important:
Certain .tv domains considered premium by the registry are subject to registry renewal fees that can be higher than the typical fee. Registry regulations require premium .tv domains to remain only at Enom. Learn More
******

"Learn More" is redirecting to the Enom .tv Premium sales page.

This is a very good first step from Sedo in my opinion.
It also makes clear to potential buyers that all .tv names not registered at Enom are non-premium with a normal reg fee.

EDIT: I noticed that member dpari already started a thread with this topic.

Only to really smart potential buyers. :D

I just noticed this and was going to start a thread about it, looks like you beat me to it. :great:

Great move on Sedos part imo, this should cut down on the number of non paying bidders and it will also inform more people of the premium pricing.

Nice work Sedo.

Definately great news to hear Sedo now informs buyers that they migth be buying a premium renewal name so they don't get stung later on.

Definitely a good move, at the same time it will create confusion. Potential buyers will doubt each and every .TV domain name that is being listed, even though the sellers state that they are non-premium, which would cause the potential bidders to stay off from non-premium listings, just imo.

Both good and bad.

Like all the folks that won an auction for a premium and found out the hard way.....now this will create even more confusion, and in my opinion only, will actually stop people from putting a bid in because they just won't get it and don't want to mess around with potential issues.

I know that if I saw that I would be like (valley girl) "What the hell is a premium name? Screw that, I'll go look at mobi."

Just my opinion, but there are better ways that this could be handled.

Equity mentioned once that one of Sedo's principles rates .TV a "sell". Perhaps they are trying to discourage folks from listing .TV domains on their website.

At least it appears that's a possibility from the way this disclaimer was worded and then placed on all .TV listings.

I view this as good. There have been so many .tv names on sedo and the owners of them just kept on ignoring the yearly fees and made us all look bad and the extension. Couple of them are from here and won't mention who but its pretty obvious.

Just be up front with your names and if its a yearly fee.

It just kept on getting abused and sedo had to do something on this.

No I think they are doing this to protect against sales not going through because of lack of information...

Agree....Imo Sedo did this so the could sell .tv's and that the sales were completed. Transparency is the key to success!!
