Wake Up "domainers"
...It is no secret at all that people enjoy controversy and will go to great lengths when trying to "feel the power" of self promotion- twisted with manipulation. The humor behind some of these .tv threads are the individuals who obviously have NOTHING better to do than create repeptitive, foolish and naive threads and posts.
If you drive a Es350 Lexus, good for you. Some people are walking. If you drive a Bentley Coupe, my hat goes off to you for the hard work and evident proof of successes far beyond the average man. Both people get where they need to go...Either way, you are no better than the next man.
Point being, .comers, my hat goes off to you for being at the right place at the right time, now resulting in financial freedom because of the insight and fate that you have been blessed with. But how many of you does that relate to?...I KNOW, not very many. TO EVERYONE who flips for pocket and bill money, CONGRATS to you and keep up the good hustle.
YOUR fate, has nothing to do with mine. Like your car has nothing to with mine...and most related, your business ideas, investment plans and domain dreams have nothing to do with mine. Like both cars, both domains are considered high end "vehicles". I like the word vehicles. Vehicles will be a great word to help some people here at NamePros get over their mental block, or rather, pure arrogance combined with ignorance as it realtes to the .tv domains future.
A vehicle. A vehicle is going to transport me and MANY others to a destination..."endless earnings" A vehicle ending in .com has many inherent value added benefits. Let's list them.
1) It was first. (See #2)
2) Type-in traffic. (See #1)
3) Billions of dollars in advertising and branding across the globe over almost two decades. (See #1 and #2)
...Do you understand what I am saying? It is not rocket science, but neither is the fact THAT NO ONE CAN DENY THE POWER AND INHERENT VALUE OF THE TWO LETTERS "T" and "V". Not to mention the fact the 3 items listed below that WILL SHOW to have A DIRECT and EMPOWERING relation as it realtes to "THE NEW AGE OF INTERNET"...
1) Broadband = changing the internet
2) Wireless = changing the internet
3) Technology within the IPTV, PCTV, TVPC world...is approaching very, very quickly; LIKE IT OR NOT. Next.tv, Take.tv, and a full line of HP, Sony and Samsung products set for 2008/2009 delivery that ARE directly related to this online media shift.
NO ONE is denying the power of a good, generic and brandable .com domain name. NO ONE. It would be quite foolish to do so.
HOWEVER...somehow, these "genius" domainers and NP GURU'S seem to have a few peas missing upstairs to argue that these domains are a waste of money, time and energy.
EVERY INDUSTRY, EVERY BUSINESS has it's ups, downs and "behind the scenes" situations. THIS IS NO DIFFERENT WITH .tv domains. I couldn't agree more, some .tv domains simply can not fully grasp or ultilize the power of the ".tv"...makes sense, of well, move foward. However, to suggest, imply or (most annoying) trying to "CONVINCE" people your negative views are standard and correct... is just ridiculous.
IF PEOPLE WANT TO BUY .tv, to develop, flip, invest...whatever it may be, LEAVE THEM ALONE. I am so incredibly sick of grown men and women, with nothing better to do than write negative comments and emails. How foolish, immature and just basically ridiculous does it make YOU look to extend yourself, to open and public taunts and unprofessional, sarcastic and unrelated personal advice or beliefs. OBVIOUSLY, people who do this and have proven the bright part of their day is to play "hate posts and emails" for attention, recognition and 30 seconds of NamePros fame.
The bottom line is this. As the industry gets bigger, as it does each and every day, HOW DOES IT MAKE YOU and THIS industry look, if someone signs on here and sees direct bashing of extensions, peoples personal business plans and the overall morale and vibe is that similar to a Jr-Sr Prom?
.tv is making progress no doubt. Day by day, week by week, more Premium domains are purchased, reg fee domains...and most importantly development is under way for many people behind closed doors. Believe it or not, it's true.
I REALIZE, sad to say, that we live in an instant gratification society, especially in the USA. We want everything yesterday and OUR WAY. The majority of the US are spoiled, greedy, arrogant and most importantly NAIVE. Save this post and come find me in 12 months, 24 months and 36 months...however I'm confident by then, my cell phone signal will be out of reach.
RELAX. Until you can prove the .tv regs ARE NOT INCREASING each week. Until you can prove the .tv PREMIUMS ARE NOT and HAVE NOT been sold. Until you can prove these domains ARE NOT being developed and 7/10 look better than the .com versions of that niche or offering. Until you can prove MAJOR, BILLION dollar media companies ARE NOT CURRENTLY buying AND developing .tv (believe me I know they are)...Until you can prove people are NOT interested, intrigued and excited about the wave and development of the NEW MEDIA WORLD and the IPTV world; which WILL DIRECTLY SUPPORT AND UNDERLINE THE VALUE of "t" and "v" and .tv...Until you can prove that several .tv sales of x,xxx, xx,xxx, and even xxx,xxx HAVE BEEN COMPLETED. (Not to mention RealEstate.tv had an offer a few weeks back for $350,000 which the owner turned down, awaiting his $1,000,000 asking price.) UNTIL you can prove these facts to be incorrect, then shutup and MIND YOUR BUSINESS. Or go study business I should suggest.
As far as geo domains, I have no comment... I just laugh at everyone who is beyond DRUNK to the FACTS and REALITY of BUSINESS potential and INSTANT BRANDING and INSTANT CREDIBILTY GEO DOMAINS GIVE. A Chicago.tv, Altanta.tv Boston.tv, Miami.tv...LasVegas.tv, hell "ANY" CITY OVER A 150k or so, with the proper development and strategic planning equates to an UNCAPPED annual return and revenue stream. PERIOD. YOU CAN EASILY MAKE $150k a year off one of these generics... It's ok, I'll stop talking to the negative domainers here, it's obvious, you are just that. A domainer. Nothing more. You can't expect a blind dog to fetch the bone.
One last comment. "You can't make money with premium .tv's"...wake up and smell the .tv's...What is $1,000, $3,000 or even $10,000 a year, when I can make this with one, (1) I repeat, ONE, (UNO), (EINS) advertising contract on a site...Some of you folks just don't understand. These city .com sites are making $50,60,75, and even $150,000 A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should I repeat myself?
It is a fact, the major cities and tourist destinations are making $1-$15 million dollars a year from their site. AT WHAT POINT DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND the value of the generic GEO .tv's?!?!?!?!?!?
Geo .tv's are going to ruffle some big feathers in the next 24 months, mark my word. A VERY LARGE POTRION OF THESE WILL NEVER AGAIN BE AVAILABLE FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC'S HANDS. But! I appreciate everyone not understanding or comprehending that, you made it so much eaiser for the people who get it.
Including some big .com investors who have literally came through the back door while you folks were arguing over it's "potential"...haha. If some of you had a clue what was really going on behind closed doors...i'm quite certain some peoples tones would hault. I am not and claim not to be the .tv Superman, just Clark Kent; Read between the lines. DEVELOP; GET PAID!
Remember this phrase, "Opportunity LOST" by NOT owning one of these...
