Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I am more interested in "offers" as opposed to offer views.

As am I. I was simply asking if anyone else had an irregular amount of offer views on a particular name.

These 2 IDN sales were reported:
ั•ั–.com 850 USD
ัาปั–ั€.com 850 USD

Some people are just not reading the fine print.

I am not still pissed off about any other thread.Pissed off means you're angry. My comment in this thread was more a humorous reminder to people that its not only nigerians doing scams. I have also been victim of people doing the reverse- reminding me of nigerian scams even when i have nothing to do with them. Its mostly humorous education.

Hey,

here is something funny (i hope you don't get pissed off but enjoy the laugh) ;))

Wow, they just killed over 90% of my parking income. Had 1 new domain that looks like has some links out in Google to the domain and it's getting nice traffic.

Hey folks I wonder if Sedo is really the place to get a reasonable price for a good domain, I would like to list a few right here as a newbie for pricing opinions. I usually use estibot as a guide. Mostly I try to focus on domains that I can sell for $900-$3000 category, the idea being even if I do not get top dollar I need to sell a few of my good domains:

If I stick to what Estibot comes up with a low figure, then I feel I am okay:

GurlClub.com $1,900

AdsAnd.com Estibot had this at $1800 for a while now dropped it to $1,800 I feel its worth $2,300 as an easily brandable Ad Agency name.

HyIpListings.com $3,000
Easy to make a website, just allow people to post their High Yield Investment Portfolio Listings (HYIP) Listings!

Thats all I was looking at the other listing categories and I really am seeking input and these domains and about 90 others are listed at Sedo.

Estibot is a terrible tool to use to "valuate" a domain. I can go grab any bargain bin domain with my eyes closed from GoDaddy and Estibot will still valuate them at over $1,000 or more.

Sorry, if these are an example of what your other names are like then I think you need to reevaluate your approach to the business.

Read the relevant threads on the forum check out what names actually sell and their prices. IGNORE automated valuation, or in fact any appraisal service apart from the freebies offered by established domainers.

@HostPoet, forget ESTIBOT. Its a nice tool for getting some metrics, but not for appraising domain names. Simply forget ANY automatic appraisal tool.
You want a realistic appraisal? Put it up for appraisal in Namepros and DNF. I am afraid that the names you listed above might get "reg fee" or even 0$ Dollar appraisals. These names are not registered with any other extension. Normally shows you that they are worthless. Now there are sometimes names that are worth something with .com (for instance LLLL or 5 letter brandable pronounceable) even if other extensions are not registered. But not these names. Sorry, maybe you should learn more before starting to register/buy/sell Domain names , to save money

Good advice here about ignoring the automated domain messtimate tools. Well, they are nice if you want buyers to accept a domain is worth money LOL.

I saw a domain sell for low XXXX that Estibot said was worth about 60, Sedo rated it below 500, their lowest valuation category. Anyone tried checking Estibot values of domains reported sold just after the price is published, and before Estibot digests it?

I haven't made 1 cent from parking with Sedo!

Im pissed at sedo!

I have 300 domains parked with them and today I went to log into my account and it said invalid password and username.

I contacted their U.S. support and finally got a hold of someone who told me and I quote: " They we're concerned with your quality of traffic".

I've been in parking for 5 years and never once had an issue with any other company i park with.

I do not cheat, lie, steal, click on my own links, buy traffic and redirect it, etc..

I play by the rules 100%

This is absurd!

Sorry needed to vent but I want people to be aware of what happened. This might be an isolated incident and some of you may have never had a problem with them. However, this irks the hell out of me!

Most likely not the case. I, personally have had the exact same problem, and from what I've read on various forums, many others have as well.

smurge, I had the exact same problem as you about a year ago. After contacting support they reinstated my account, but it is very frustrating.

I'm in need of a little help here.

The Issue : Received offer for a domain. I was assigned to update technical informations, but that assignment sentence was in the middle of a 80-100 line paragraph, which I denied to read. After a week or something, sedo found that I don't own the domain anymore. They invoiced me $45 to cover "fees" for a transaction that never took place.
Issue in a sentence : I had forgot to remove expired domain from portfolio and SEDO issued an invoice of $45 as I had recently got offer for expired domain.

First of all, I truly understand that this is my mistake. I should have removed expired domains from my portfolio, but the reason exists. I was away from my internet due to family reasons. This can be proofed by eve looking at NamePros login history of mine/dates of my posts.

Solution from the victim's eyes : I request SEDO to cancel the invoice as this was not intentionally done. I assure this will never happen again in future.

Thanks for hearing my voice,
-gct

gct,

Does the domain have a new owner? How long ago did it expire, who did you register it through? You may still be able to recover the domain.

It seems it is caught by someone. And on the other point, I wouldn't like to own it again.

Thanks,
gct

I wasn't suggesting gaining control of the domain for you to own it again. The idea was that if the name had expired but hadn't dropped you could still salvage the sale.

Yes, I can understand that, but salvaging the sale would not be of much profit to me. The sale was ate by the SEDO commissions of $45, giving me $25~ something. I wouldn't take much trouble for that sale.

Thanks,
gct
