Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I have faced this issue a few times in the past and again right now. I think this mostly happens when you recently purchased the domain at GoDaddy, which apparently can create some problems. Afternic support needed to escalate my case even though the support staff could see I had verified the domain with the third nameserver.
If only AN and GD had some sort of 'partnership' and they could make this process a bit smoother... ;)

Double Check Your Pricing, People.

I've seen this before. My pricing in Afternic does NOT match the pricing displayed in GoDaddy for the name(s). This is for a block of names where I changed the pricing recently. Using the price setting in Afternic to set the same (new) price in Afternic does not take. I am going to need to do a delete and re-add.

Not cool, GoDaddy. Bad tech. Sloppy. Cavalier. Apathetic.

Afternic, GoDaddy's sales platform, is generally better behaved than GoDaddy, the registrar, but that bad DNA is evident in Afternic as well.

Hi

you know they all be sitting across each other in cubicles.
laughing and joking about the issues they know they could fix, but won’t.
kicking soccer balls and riding skateboards around the lobby and 💩
meanwhile , they force behavior modification on customers, as they have them jump through hoops and endure lots of going back and forth, just to get a resolution.

just saying, had an April sale, but name still showing as “needs attention “, and got a 4 figure offer there this week, but no email notification.

imo…

I think a lot of the staff are still working from home.

@DrJacoby I inquired on one of my own domains last month to test their response times and the result was shocking, but at the same time, not surprising.

While the lead center stated the infamous, "Status updated to Qualifying - Attempting to engage with the buyer," not a single email was sent out for 3 days!

The first email stated they were, "reaching out right away." (3 days later.)

The 2nd email, sent the same day, stated the price.

So much for getting a price in less than 24 hours.

I got an inquiry on one of my domains sunday night, and it took 48 hours before the broker contacted the buyer even though Afternic/GoDaddy has talked about how important it is to get back to the buyer within 24 hours. Unacceptable in my opinion.

I was really surprised to get this answer from the Afternic sales team when I contacted them:

So the brokers that are responding to offers and inquiries on our Afternic listed domains operate under GoDaddy! Doesn't this create a serious conflict of interest when buyers pay for a GoDaddy broker to help them buy a domain name?

In this scenario, it would mean a GoDaddy broker (representing the buyer) is negotiating with another GoDaddy broker (representing the seller). Can we really trust them??

How awful! GoDaddy/Afternic should be ashamed of themselves. How hard can it be to at least use AI to respond to the inquiry. Whoever is responsible for this mess should be fired immediately.

The company is in serious decline. Maybe it's time to short the GoDaddy stock?

@411domains I have changed all my landers to BIN landers, and I have also set Floor Price = BIN. This will hopefully minimize future damage done by an incompetent brokerage team.
