Hi All! :hi:

By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas! Happy Holidays!

Always,
Keith
(on behalf of Sedo)

Clicks mysteriously going down

Hello folks,

I've noticed that for a particular domain I have in my Sedo account, it's clicks are mysteriously going down from day to day. Has anyone else seen/heard/experienced this before? It appears I'm still getting paid the correct amount from what I can see.

Thanks!

Oriole

**Update** Never mind, I now realize that the totals are for the last X amount of days and not cumulative.

I had never parked domains on Sedo. I did it for the first time this week-end - a few domains which I intend to sell on a forum or marketplace anyway.

Well, I must say I am quite impressed by the first results, after slightly more than 24 hours: a domain name which used to produce some 20-25$ over the past three months with Whypark+Adsense, but was down (1 or 2 clicks a day for 2 cents each), and didn't do better with NameDrive, suddenly rises up: with the same number of visitors, 11 clicks in 24 hours instead of 1 or 2 clicks! Not a big amount, only a total of 35 cents, but nevertheless much better than the other solutions: the click rate is pretty amazing, compared to what happened over the past two weeks with other solutions.

Of course, it is just one experience with one domain: another domain, which has more visitors, but didn't produce any click with the two other solutions, still doesn't produce any click. Nevertheless, comparatively, I must say that this initial experience of Sedo parking is a pleasant surprise - let's wait and see if it will develop on that way and, moreover, how domains will sell there.

Hi Stephanie!

I have about 50 names parked with Sedo at the moment.
Recently I received an email stating that several of my names had been removed due to possible copyright infringement.

The names in question were not in anyway "copyright infringement", but could however, be considered spelling mistakes.. This is not a TM or Copyright infringement according to my lawyer friend, so, I guess my question to you would be... How can I have these names put back into the parking program?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

You could contact our Customer Support Department with the domains at http://support.sedo.com and we can look into the issue further.

Hi,

Please keep in mind that not all sales are made public per the request of the parties in involved. You can keep up to date on our Recent Sales list and find top sales on http://www.dnjournal.com.

Hi,

Please do not hotlink to your parked domain in this forum or others, as your account may be subject to review and suspension from our parking program.

Hi,

I am new to Sedo, and I have a quick question which may help others. If one parks a domain in Sedo, and would like to increase its search ranking in Google for example, how can one do it? (which would also increase the chance of getting clicks). Do you need to specify a range of keywords (or something), and if so how does one do it?

Thanks for your help

Parking relies on type-in traffic, not SEO. So do not expect wonders with google.
Parking and development are totally different things.

How do I sell domains on Sedo without having to use their parking program?

You just list them in your CP but don't change your domain nameservers to Sedo.

But (always a BUT), I believe it's 10%/$50 USD minimum if it's not "parked" there, 10% if it's parked there. Big difference on a cheap domain.

Just a heads up, you have to read the fine print.

Thanks, L2. Waiting for the Sedo staff to reply is taking ages.

Payment notes are created and payments are issued by the 15th of every month. If you have reached your payout limit last month, you should have been issued a credit note today.

You simply list the domains in your Sedo account for sale and do not change your name servers (modified at your registrar) to point to our parking program.

newbie question

I was going to ask this in the newbie section, however I suppose it's appropriate enough here.

Are the RPM statistics Sedo provides accurate? I have a domain that recently got 1 click for the first time earning 9 cents, and now it's at the top of my list with $94 RPM! Is that possible somehow? I've seen the RPM fluctuate on a couple others, but this one is a big surprise D-:

That will be right for now. It means that the click actually represents $0.094
At that rate you would expect $94 for 1000 clicks. That is what RPM means - Revenue Per Thousand clicks.
The RPM can fluctuate due to the probability that each click has a different amount of revenue associated with it.
