By request, we've decided to start a thread dedicated to Sedo. We're looking for invaluable insight into what domainers want and need out of our parking program (and marketplace, of course).

Questions, comments, suggestions, tips are welcome! We're hoping this will be a great discussion about what works at Sedo and what might not (please be constructive and respectful to others in your feedback) so that everyone involved can benefit and learn from it.

Got similar letter from Sedo today. This is unbelievable. They blocked all the domains because some domains that get clicks don't convert to sales for their ad sponsors! At the same time, they refer to their rules where there is no any single word that all domains can be blocked because of nonconverting to sales. Rather, they refer to their policies related to traffic fraud etc. At the same time, my account is not blocked i.e. I can log into it as usual.

fu*k its new way of stealing money.

i gave the yahoo links of my domain which gives the old subdomains ofone domain but no response only a stupid automated reply telling we dont want to do business

Does Sedo keep any records of past sales (auctions) somewhere in their website? I am not talking about the small list of recent sales that they publish on their landing page.

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have a public list of closed auctions on our website. If you are looking for the final bid amount for any public auction, you can contact us and we can provide you with that information.

This is the 2nd time my domains have been rejected for inclusion into SEDO's themed auction. The reason given was that my domains were of poor quality (Q).

I examined the names they approved to be listed in the themed auction, and some of them are 4-syllables long, others have very minimal traffic, and some even have domain dropped history on their records. And these are supposed to be "high quality" domains, right?

And sure enough, after the themed auction has finished, a lot of these names didn't even get any bids on them! Why put a super tight squeeze on the names that get listed on a themed auction, and thus prevent bidders from discovering what other possible brandable names are out there -- besides those that SEDO have pre-selected for them to bid on?

What I'm thinking is that SEDO just wants us to cough-up the moolah to pay for domain promotion in their regular frontpage, and not just get a free ride publicity from getting listed in a themed auction.

Applications for our Premium and Themed Auction Events are carefully reviewed by our brokers and must meet certain quality criteria and have the ability to marketed to end-users.

In addition, as our Premium Auction Events are reserved for premium domain names, these domains are anticipated to sell at prices that we would not need any money from the user to "pay" to be included. Even when a domain does not sell through the venue, a broker has a exclusive contract with that user and can further assist with a sale.

If you are having trouble selling your domains, a Featured Listing is a certainly a great way to gain exposure to more buyers from our homepage.

Promoting domains at sedo

I see there is 2 options and was wondering has anyone else had any success or lack of it through these type's of promotion.The featured listing and category showcase.

Need some advise before I go and make some choice's

I think it's worth doing a featured showcase for $39.95 only IF you have a lot of domains..... Then list all your domains on the one that is featured, it gives all your domains a lot of exposure(and also you should link to your entire profile by using SEDO's option for this)....... I have gotten a ton of views on all my domains (usually over 100 views per 30 days) by doing this... It's also led to a few sales given the added views....Sometimes, if you don't promote at all, you can have a lot of GREAT domains with NO views at all...

Some promotion is necessary IMO, even if it's just a catagory showcase...

I agree with mjbenterprises, you should also make sure that the domain you use for the featured listing is a good one that will in itself attract viewers that may take a look at your other listings.

No point in listing all your domains on a featured domain if it doesn't have the potential to attract viewers.

I have listed one of my domains for featured listing but I never saw anything to link to my entire portfolio.How can I correct this as my listing is live now?

How long to transfer domain on sedo?

I won a domain on Sedo and paid at once. Sedo received payment on the second day.

"Seller instructed to push domain to Sedo account" started there, and has been 10 days.

Sedo agent told me "it usually takes one week to complete the transfer. Now the seller has still not push the domain into our account. We are contacting him. Please wait for our further message."

How long do you normally wait for the domain transfer?

What should I do, if the seller do not transfer domain?

I guess it should not take more than a week. if you still not received any update then contact sedo elaborating the whole issue.

The transfer takes usually 1,2 days depending on seller...

The maximum is 7 days...

I think the seller is not responding you should ask the Transfer Specialist through Transfer Center he

will explain further....

If unfortunately the seller fails to to transfer the domain Sedo will cancel his membership and will

refund your money...

In my experience it all depends on how proactive the seller is and to some extent how on the ball the Sedo representative is - I have had a couple of transactions recently where a bit of gentle encouragement to the Sedo guy has helped push the transaction along faster than it would otherwise have appeared to be proceeding.

Totally agree.

Sometimes, the seller isn't happy with the auction price then he may never transfer the domain to you.

Looks like trusty Estibot did a much better job in general than the erm, 'pros' at Sedo. Most of those I listed up there got ZERO bids, and more than half their entire accepted list finished without takers...maybe they should have Estibot on the executive team?

You've really got to wonder when people happily take spe*me.info, but not sp*nked.org :/

i tried to chanage the template of my recently parked domain Clipprz . com

in preview it shows different (direct sponsor links) while on domain it showing like directory catagories and once clicked it is doing nothing(stays on same page), asked a friend to check this for me, caz i wanted to know if these catagories go directly to advertiser or open a further inner catagory

that will be a waste if clicking keeps user on same page

traffic coming in and its getting wasted really

I could not replicate this problem on my end. In addition, if you are clicking on your own advertisements and asking friends to do the same, your account may be closed by Sedo and your domains may be blocked by our advertisement provider.

i never ever clicked on my adds nor ask friends to do that was just checking it caz in preview it showed and still showing me a differnet template and totally differnt in real when applied, i am by the user id "lovelylovely" u can see stats if it give u a single bit of hint i ask friends to click my ads, and i be more then happy to get account closed if i found doing so.

so why am i not getting the site pattern i choose from domain management area of my account

In the preview box, look out for the keywords they have used. (words will be top,left,right) and make them keywords your keywords.
