Domain name: HueChefs dot com
Domain Category: Food Beverage Cooking
Sale venue: GoDaddy Auctions
Seller: Me
Sale price: $350
Net: $280 after 20% GD commission
Purchase price: Reg Fee

I purchased this domain a few months ago, on speculation, for an NP member who was looking for a kitchen gadget name incorporating colors. I do this from time to time if I can find a good name to register. He didn't want it, but somebody else did! ;)

Was the domain literally llll.org or something else? If the latter, what was the domain name?

I kept thinking for for like an hour, why would they reject this name.... I couldn't find any :) that's a great name and priced to sell I would say!

Yes, The portfolio sale was in December 2015 if I remember correctly, as a xmas gift, the other ones are this year, also have many in 2016. I have many more to report, never really reported any domain sales in the open, but one or two names, such as a/r/u/b/a/properties dot com I sold for $15k and with a portfolio of 50 more real estate names at $35k extra to the same buyer, which included 10% shares in the company and 10% commission over each property sale. (Commission over their commission) Those names are confidential but still want to share with NP in the open if possible. Investment was very low too $xxx, this was a face to face negotiation for months.
I remember propertiesAruba.com also sold for 7k in 2016

I am not surprised with BB, they rejected my domains but for a few months later I sold them at the high price. I am asking BB remove my domains from their website.

Domain M I U T (in king, and no spaces)
Selling price : 10,000
Venue : Self Brokerage using DNS landers.
NOTE TO DnJournal: Please mention my name if you will report this sale (Name: Ahmed Elbaz :)

Negotiations started more than 3 months ago. I was contacted by the owner of a similar domain name. The negotiation was smooth but we didnt agree in the very last mile. However, I insisted on a certain price and was firm. Back then, I owned the name for less than 6 months and thought it will sell in the future anyways.

Then they contacted me again over the phone directly. This time I said one thing after 5 minutes of negotiations "10K today only, tomorrow and for good this domain is for 13K+". I wasnt bluffing, I was solid. We initiated an escrow transaction in 60 minutes :)

This was the only day we were going to offer that discount. The reason was that I needed money to lend a very dear friend who was in trouble. I thought if they wouldnt buy it for 10K, I will borrow the money back to back from another friend until another domain sells and pay back my friend.

Lesson Learned : I had a very urgent need for money (Helping a friend is as important as being alive). HOWEVER, I would rather borrow money rather than settling for less amounts. Even if I didnt find anyone to lend me, I would take a bank loan with interest, rather than selling for less amounts!

WHY do I think that way? There will always be one M I U T! I bought this domain and paid premium for it. Its not something I find everyday! When I was bidding to buy it, I was solid its a 5 figures name! NEVER settle for less unless your valuation was wrong! For this name, I was sure that my valuation was right!

This sale made me think of establishing out own domain brokerage business. We started already taking some domains for outreach from a couple of fellow domainers. We are considering brokerage of all domains (or portfolios) that are worthy 20K+ Just send us a pm and we will take it from there.

Thanks a lot for reading until here :) Have a great day!

Ahmed,
That is so inspirational,
I hope you don't have such situations in the future and i applaud you for what you did.
It's all about giving if you look at the bigger picture.

Why do we make money?
To make ourselves satisfied first but when it comes to choosing between the situation you mentioned above a good human will always choose what you did over a bit more comfort for themselves.

Anyways enough emotional talk and i hope the friend you tried to help is well, and congrats on the sale.

That friend lent me money when I was short of thousands a lot of times before. And dozens of other great things.
It takes another lifetime to find such a great friend :)
Thanks a lot buddy for the great words!
