I recently came to the conclusion that the old RedNerve logo was rather complicated and was nowhere near as brandable as I would like. For that reason, I had a redesign, and here it is:

I'd appreciate some comments on this logo from the Namepros community and, if possible, a vote on the poll! If you could comment on things like, brandability, memorability, creativity etc.

Thanks all,

Will.

It's good, as far as design, but without looking at the site I have no idea what RedNerve is?

Hey Will, it's looking great :tu: !

The one thing I think could be changed is the way the "N" is in Nerve. Even though I know of your company (RedNerve), I had to wait a few seconds before recognizing the "N". Perhaps its just my reading :] !

Other than that, awesome!

Keep it up :) !

What exactly did you mean by this comment? I'm a wee bit confused ...

And thanks for all the nice comments so far :)

EDIT: A slight redesign:

Made the dotted line thinner and also reduced the gap between the "d" and "N". I think the changes worked for the better :)

What is the symbol supposed to be? I just think, to make it brandable, the symbol needs to mean something, or have something to do with th website.

The symbol was just something randomised that looked cool, to be honest, I couldn't really think of anything related to the business ... a computer monitor or mouse would be OK I suppose, but they're quite generic ...

You need a symbol which is unique, and somehow means something to the visitor, either by associating it with your site, have some sort of connection with the industry which you are in, or to be associated with the name.

For example, this logo: http://www.cyberplanetltd.com/images/header_logo.gif

The company is called CyberPlanet Ltd, so the globe in the background means something, and therefore makes the logo more memorable than a random image.

Yes, I see you're meaning. I'll have a go at thinking up some more symbols later on. I like everything apart from the symbol though :)
