I've finally gotten my first offer for a domain listed on Sedo!!! The offer is $150 for GolfMinute.com

Golf Minute used to be a business in Naperville, IL. This was their domain before it expired. Oakley has a line of sunglasses called "Golf Minute". There is also a radio show called "The Golf Minute" that is fairly popular. It airs on ESPN Radio 920 AM, Fox Sports Radio 1460 AM and 97.1 The Point FM in Las Vegas. A televised version of "The Golf Minute" airs on Vegas 1 cable television and Vegas 35. I think there is a driver called "Golf Minute" and an exercise routine as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

How do you guys think I should play this? I would like some solid advice from some seasoned domainers if you guys can spare a moment! Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks!

Brian

Counter with $300 and see what the guy does

I'd counter offer at around that same price too, given the history you have outlined

It would probobly help knowing what kind of type-in traffic it is getting.

Does the domain make any money at Sedo? If it doesn't, either accept the $150 and register some that do, or try your luck and counter for a higher amount. If it does make money at Sedo, then how long would it take to make $150? If it would take several years, then it's probably still worth selling. If it would make $150 in a year or 2 then the offer is too low and you'd be better off just holding on to it.

Suggest you sale the name at that price if a higher price is not possible! ( give the buyer a higher price like 300 and see)

$150 seems low to me. Tell them you won't take less than $500.

Yep i agree, they have obviously done there homework on the site and try to pull off a quick bid and rub there hands if they get it. If you throw back $300 and they do not discuss it futher then you will see they were pouching for a cheap name with good traffic.

what traffic does it get?

i also think you should counter but with $200 as if its some guy whos not in the doamin trade countering with $300 may scare him off :guilty:

I would counter with $450. Doesn't look as expensive as $500 and also you leave yourself a perfect middle ground of $300 to settle on if he won't meet the $450.

keep in mind that sedo takes 10% if your domain is parked there, and $50 if your domain is not -- so be sure to factor that in when making your pricing decision. good luck!

Congrats. Remember: offer on Sedo means one thing: they are trying to get the domain cheap. Since the WHOIS info is always available, they can contact you directly. Remaining anonymous means that you can lowball a domain.

So you're the one that offered me $60 through Sedo when I had a $350 offer on the table for PokerTournaments.us at ebay. LOL

Wondered who that was.

Couldn't respond to the offer cuz I had to counter with a number and I couldn't with the auction going.

I'm only kidding with you Radistar, but it was funny cuz Sedo fees would have been $50 with $60 offer... $10 for me.

Congrats on the sale Brian
My only sale through Sedo was "isuzu.info" for $600 ... It's obvious that Isuzu is now the owner, but I was happy to get rid of it for trademark reasons... only cost me 8 bucks anyway.

Keep up the good work.

Best Regards,
Dave
