Received my first Domain Broker at Sedo inquiry/offer

Has anyone had some experience in being the seller in a sedo broker transaction? Do they low ball the first offer just to see (for the customer) or was the first offer pretty fair? Any past exp would be helpful. Since this is my first, I was skeptical about it being a scam but it looks legit and I guess the deeper the sale goes I could call Sedo to verify.

Thanks in advance for your help, Gary.

well they have paid sedo $69 for them to broker it instead of doing it themselves so im guessing the pockets will stretch to more than a mid $xxx type offer which im guessing is where they have started

Normally the broker will ask you for an asking price or range.
Like a lawyer they work for their client, not both parties. Consequently they will try to get a deal for their client, not you, even though their fee may be in proportion of the sale price.
I have been contacted by a Sedo broker in the past but never heard back from them. Perhaps they didn't like my asking price, anyway I hope negociation will be successful for you and result in a nice sale.

Funny story about Sedo brokered offers: Just 3 weeks after I got into domaining, I got my first offer via a Sedo broker -- on a domain that I had bought a year or two before for personal use! Weird coincidence, really.

Anyway, I think the offer was for $400 initially. I countered with $750, and we settled at $600. Still one of my best sales to date, and I wasn't even trying to sell that one!

Wow, that was easy and painless. I countered and he sent back his "top price" which was very fair :) and I accepted. Will post details when completed.

Thanks to all that replied, Gary.
