Missing domain names in my GoDaddy account

I have about 90 domain names at GoDaddy.

I login my GoDaddy account today and see only 66 domain names in there.

Where are my domain names???

I’ve have listed all 90 domains at Afternic.

So I chat with GoDaddy support manager and he is saying my domain names are in Afternic account.

I told him Afternic is a marketplace, not a registrar. Godaddy should have all my domain names.

He said you can transfer them out of Afternic and into your godaddy account.

I said I have listed ALL 90 domains at Afternic. Why are 66 domains in my GoDaddy account?

I said if you were correct, my GoDaddy account should show zero domains.

And this was a Godaddy support chat manager. First I chat with a normal person at GoDaddy support and he didn’t know crap so then asked for a supervisor or manager.

So does anyone here know why all my domain names are not showing up in my GoDaddy account?

Thank you for your help.

In your case you still have spare domains. But not everyone will have them.
None at GoDaddy though.

In February of this year I moved everything to DynaDot and couldn't be happier. My advice to anyone these days is pick whoever ya like and never look back.

Same with sales pages, NamePros free at 0% commission, Efty monthly/yearly fee at 0% commission, Atom white label free at 7.5% commission, Sedo free at 10% buy it now, 15% make offer, 20% MLS etc...

Stop feeding the technically incompetent 800 pound Gorilla that does whatever it likes and ignores domainers. Use to love GoDaddy years ago now 100% out of my life and no regrets and no stress anymore stuff just works like it should.

It's a "fun" place to work.

But the GoDaddy Guides are probably not working from Tempe.

The solution is just go to afternic settings and click ON for the boosting program .
Then call godaddy support and introduce your self as “I am A afternic Boost program member” can you return my 24 stolen domains ?
Then they will reply “You are a good guy” and your 24 hostages will be free within 24 hours .

NOTE: The chat support of godaddy are mostly outsource cheap laborers from India and Philippines and they know nothing but 💩 .

Perhaps they can help walk you through a fake Windows 10 update.

Good morning @anunt,

Hi @anunt
Your domains are indeed in a premium hold - this simply means that one or more customers has added your domain names to their cart and were in the checkout process. These names do not leave your account while they’re in a premium hold, but they are no longer visible to you because of the pending transaction.

Usually, you wouldn’t see this, since domains tend to be purchased immediately once they are in the cart.

We’re working with our team to understand more about the specific circumstances around the multiple domains being in a premium hold, and we’ll let you know more as soon as we can.

@GoDaddy

As mentioned by others as well, domains should not leave the GoDaddy registrar (customer) account at any time when the domain is not yet sold.

Further, I don't believe this method is permitted according to GoDaddy/Afternic TOS.

Sure, you could mark those domains as "Pending Afternic Sale" or anything you like, but the domains should always remain visible (and manageable) in the GD customer account. Until a sale is indeed final. It has to do with providing a reliable system and trust.

Could you work on a solution like this?

Let's set aside the problem with domains disappearing from your account for a second.

I could see this happening with one domain, however a couple dozen out of 90 domains? That's seems highly unlikely.

Now back to the fundamental problem. Domains should not be disappearing from your account in the first place, for any length of time.

Even if that was the case, there should be some indication in your account of which domains are in this hold.

Domains disappearing even for a short period of time is as issue on multiple fronts.

Also, is it possible to keep putting a domain in the cart, effectively making a domain (semi-) permanently unavailable to thwart another Afternic Seller? (denial of service).

If so, this could also be a great way to keep closeouts temporarily locked up until they drop to a lower price.

Again, I highlighted earlier in this thread only one potential issue, which is possibly missing a renewal because the domain was not in your account at the time.

If you only do renewals once a month, it's easy to see a scenario where domain missing = domain expired.

Agree @bmugford

Finally, I wonder whether domains set to automatic renewal will still be renewed if they are suddenly moved to a different GoDaddy holding account. Who is the owner? Epik used to do these tricks with customer domains, and we know how that ended.

It seems there are several issues here that haven't been properly thought through, creating significant uncertainty among GoDaddy registrar customers.

Great question.

If this continues, ICANN may be consulted for an opinion on the legal implications of tampering with customer domains.

For this exact reason I recently moved out 400+ names from GD

couple weeks ago I noticed one of my GD name was 'on hold' in afternic dashboard. I noticed the name disappeared from GD. After few days 'on hold' status was removed and domain back to for sale status. But I couldn't find the name in GD even after few days. Later I contacted support, thank god support stuff was helpful, transferred the domain to my account immediately.

it was enough experience for me to transfer out all my domains from GD. it's not that GD cannot be trusted but no one should have to waste time for checking inventory, contact support if notice any discrepancy.

I wonder how domainers with thousands of names can have peace of mind with this issue.

This also happened to me on two domain names over the last year.
Luckily, I frequently download my entire list of domain names at GD. And both times I caught the missing domain names. They were ON HOLD in Afternic, but after a few days no longer on hold at Afternic. Problem as described is they are not put back into GD where I can see them.

I mentioned both times to my account rep at GD that this is terrible -- because I might miss a name that was expiring. I Only caught it because I check my list of names frequently.

I guess when they told me they would look into it, they really haven't as it is still happening...

GoDaddy -- this BUG needs to be fixed ASAP.
