I have a fairly decent domain I want to sell fairly soon (gamerforums.net) for a reasonable price at Sedo. I've had the name at $500, but am trying a new tactic. I want to get an offer on my name so I can take it to auction, where I think it will get good exposure. So I changed the price to $60.

I currently have a category listing for the name, too. We'll see if my tactic works or not. Has anyone tried this before to get a domain to auction at Sedo? Is what I'm doing a bad idea?

In my opinon with this domain, this is a gamble. If you are pushing a domain to auction make sure you push it for a price you would be happy with if no one else bid on it.
I feel it is not quite as easy to find domains that are currently on auction at sedo as it has been in the past. There have been a few threads on here which echo my feelings about this problem.

I've seen people have their entire portfolios listed at $60, and I figured it's a strategy to get things to go to auction. The only problem is, there aren't many names I'd be willing to part with for $10 profit if that ended up being the only bid.

I don't know what's best. I wish it were easier to list things for auction, and I actually think Sedo's site could stand to be redesigned. There aren't many featured listings on the front page, and I find the whole marketplace difficult to use in general.

It took me several times to get .CO names to display, for instance. I changed the extension, pressed search, and it kept returning 0 results. It wasn't until I specified "added in the last week" that any showed up.

I really wonder how endusers ever understand Sedo, if there are any looking there at all.
