I feel that the .org TLD is particularly undervalued when it comes to prices for acronym domains (and many others). For example, a LLL.org is stated on 3character.com (yes, I know this isn't entirely accurate but it is seen as somewhat of a rule book by many domainers, so thus has a large effect on the market) as being worth $275, yet a LLL.net is worth a minimum $825; almost 3 times the value.
However, when taking a look at the number of .org and .net websites that have been indexed in Google the results are as follows:
Site:.net = 385,000,000
Site:.org = 2,720,000,000
It is therefore possible to see that there are almost 7 times as many .org domains in Google as .net. Obviously there will be many domains not indexed, etc. but, again, it proves a point.
Then we can take .info - only 45,000,000 sites in Google, yet their LLL value is more than half that of a .org.
I know that people say that .org is less valuable because of them appealing to organizations, charities, etc. but, although it is unethical in many circumstances, these charities can often have larger budgets than many other end users. Similarly, the acronyms are often perfect for these charities which could possibly make the .org even more valuable than the .com for brandability rather than type-in purposes.
Therefore, I can only predict a rise in the value of .org as people begin to realise that this TLD is actually much more popular, both through use and for the public, than many of the other extensions. Anyway, I'm sure I've repeated points and am rambling on so will stop there!
