Domaining is one of those journeys where real lessons come from experience, not just tutorials.
If you are to give a beginner just three words of advice, what would they be?

Mine will be: Learn. Patience. Discipline.
Sometimes the shortest lessons carry the most value. I’d love to hear what three words guided you, or what you wish someone had told you early on.

Thanks, that's really valid. But, I guess it couldn't fit into three words...lol

Too many newbies come here asking questions and learn the wrong things from many people here.
You will turn out losing money and waste your time along with other people time.
1. Forget about all the statistical information: number of extensions are taken, search results, etc...
2. Forget about Atom, Grandpa, etc... approved
3. Adding two/three words which make no sense: ConcreteDick, PlasticCement, ManVagina, etc...

You only need to know 2 things:
- Do you have money? If not hand register will get you crap names and you will lose money
- Ask yourself ONE simple question when buy a name. What type of website can I setup for the name

Trust your gut.

When the offer arrives and the keywords are solid, any lowball offer will become an opportunity to leave money on the table.

Also:

Power of NO.

You don't have to counter, believe it or not. All you have to do is to decline incoming offers. Until the right offer arrives, that is.

Always have money.

(then it's much easier to say "no")
