I am starter and decided to start with subdomain names and upgrade later. But one of my testing factors was to get in search engines like googles. I submitted my site to yahoo, google, msn and other search engines. yahoo had indexed my site and get listed but google has not although I submitted my site map and is being downloaded atleast daily and followed their guidelines, no url of the site has been indexed up till now.
Please can anyone help me with this issue? I will be much grateful

directly submitting your site to search engines is the slowest active way of getting indexed.

the fastest way is to get a live link to your site from forums or blogs.

As shockie said, getting strong backlinks is much faster than just submitting your website manually.

I'd recommend finding some free directories and submitting to those, putting a link to your site in your signature here on NamePros, and possibly other forum sites. Blogs too. But remember you have to post for that to do anything ;)

Get link from well indexed web site. That will help you get indexed soon.

Try Google Webmaster Tools - Google Sitemap

Just create a Sitemap in XML format (many sites provide it free) and upload it to your site.

There is a step-by-step guide on google website. Nothing better then this !

If it takes much longer then the anticipated time... check your website credibility! (this section is much detailed , and will come later ) So... Try now... Google webmaster tools

sitemaps are meant to tell search engines which pages to crawl and how to do so.

i don't find them any faster in getting a site onto a search engine compared to a link on the right site.

Yes, sitemaps guide what to search but I am here discussing on Google webmaster tools.

Follow the link,

I think then you will be familiar with that!

when i said "sitemaps" i was also referring to google sitemaps (in the xml format).

submitting a sitemap through g webtools is still slower in getting a site indexed than links from the right sites.

Google sitemaps are helpful not any sitemap. Be sure that this sitemap might be not welcomed by other SE. And this will be big trouble

Submit a topic to Digg and Reddit. That's the fastest way I know. I dont know with others. But never abuse Digg or you might be banned.
Try to create lens in Squidoo.
