.tv Highest Geo .tv Sale??

Hey,

I was wondering the highest price paid for a Geo .tv??

I know there is a Sales thread but i was wondering if there has been many higher sales that anyone here has heard about where the buyer/seller agreed not to disclose the sale price.

IF anyone knows of any large Geo Sales then just post an approx figure and what type of Geo it was (Country name, City name, Regional...etc)

If this is totally against the spirit of domaining or breaks any agreements then just ignore me.

The reason i am interested in such info is that i dont know anyone else who buys domains so i have no idea if there is many high priced sales or much interest in the higher end of the .tv market.

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Cheers,
Ronnie

If most high $$$ geo transactions are not disclosed, then in theory a geo sale could have taken place for an amount greater than $25k and we wouldn't even know about it! :'(

I love geos. :xf.love:

I know it doesn't count, but many GEO buyers have already paid high prices to reg names.

Mexico.tv had a renewal of $5k and I negotiated it down to $500, but had to pay $15k upfront for the first 3 years to have a $500 renewal after that.

The owner of france.tv did a similar thing and that was a $7.5k renewal.

Sorry i think my 1st post was a bit confusing so i'll try again:

Does anyone know about any high value Geo Sales that were not disclosed to the public (and you wont find on Namebio...etc)

IF any of you do know of any high price sales then im not asking you to break any NDA's, any details would be good.

Reason such info would be so useful is that by looking at Namebio and such then we get a approx Value of the Max Geo's are worth in the current market BUT if there is lots of sales that never get disclosed then values could be nowhere near wwhat we think.

The kind of info i'd LOVE to know is
Has there has been a sale over $50k??
Has there been a number of sales about $20k
or even
Has anyone knocked back an offer of over $50k for a Geo??

Any info would be great :)

Cheers,
Ronnie

I`m start thinking you have A LOT of $ then. Only that would (in my view justify that action).....and you must truly believe that .tv is not just for fashion......

I think it`s a big bet. I would not have done the same purchase if I had $1,000,000 in my savings account.

I think John has a pretty good grasp on the .tv market, he has had some HUGE sells as well as some large purchases. Money is relative, which is why some are able to hold out for $xx-xxx to $xxx, xxx while others would sell the same domain(s) for $x,xxx and be happy.

All premium names are indeed a (big) bet, there are a couple of forum members here who pay x,xxx renewal every year for incredible premium .tv names. Large companies tend to go for premium names like loan, dog, credit, etcetera, if they are interested. Those names have high renewal fees, there is no way to get around it.

I reckon names like Mexico.tv at $15,000 upfront & $500 per yr is a bargain.

Im sure this will be proven when you sell for $xxx, xxx :$:

beijing.tv 9,100 $US according to Great Domains

Seems incredibly cheap - maybe has a horrendous renewal.

Congratulations JohnTV on the mexico.tv deal - was this a while back? And would a buyer get it at $500 too?

I got mine too early (2000) and have been bleeding ever since. My attempts to get a better deal didn't get far last year (10%) and this year it was even worse.

Last year I'd seen asian.tv food.tv family.tv with annual fees of $50 on Great Domains.

Feedback from Verisign was:
The domains you mentioned food.tv has been priced at $5000 and is not on Great Domains. Family.tv is at $20,000 but they signed up for 20 years so they renew at $50 and is not with Great Domains, Asian.tv is at $500 renew because they signed up for 5 years but valued at $3000 if it expires and is listed on Great Domains for $10,000.

Meanwhile at Great Domains:
Domain name: asian.tv
List Price: US $ 10,000
Annual registration fee is $50. ==> (not $3000)

Domain name: food.tv
List Price: US $ 125,000
Annual registration fee is $50. ==> (not $5,000).

Domain name: family.tv
List Price: US $ 60,000
Annual registration fee is $50. ==> (not $20,000).

Confusing ?

It was over 2 years ago and yes, a buyer also gets it for $500 renewal a year.
