I wasn't going to announce it because I don't want everyone to think, "hey local experts is willing to pay $XX,XXX for any Geo Domain lets go out and buy them up", but we are in the process of acquiring all the assets of one TV domain investor.

The terms of the deal would mean that one of the Geo TV domains we purchased, due to special advantages we have in that region, is priced higher than any reported .TV sale this year.

Once again, don't go run and buy up all the Geo .TV domains at crazy prices because we wanted this one domain. For one thing, we bought PestControl.tv for $3,000 and people thought we were "nuts" so we may not be the best measuring stick to judge the marketplace.

We feel like we have one of the top 2 or 3 Geo TV holdings in North America and I feel like we have the right business model and a great domain portfolio.

I have the same metal model as Millers, the time has come to stop acquiring TV domains. I'm done with the aftermarket, because my budget for 2007 is spent. My focus is on development and execution.

Good luck to everyone,
George

WellI think two conversations were going on LE I was talking and answering Millers on IGAL and Elequa's position, having nothing to do with what you were talking about.

I like your strategy and you are running a business built on that, IGAL and Elequa are not so I was just talking about other peoples position. Not that it had anything to do against your strategy. Like I said my focus is not GEO, if it was I would have owned a portfolio of 20 to 30 before anyone here ever heard of the .tv subforum

I guess my real business is promoting, consulting and discussing .tv shame that business does not have a good business plan. haha

Seriously my focus is on Entertaiment/Media/Social Networking sites I believe in the dog breed idea I discussed before. I think each one can be a site generating $$$$$$
Wet.tv is the Gem that someday will get developed along with Tryouts,Mudwrestling and Spring Training.

You got a chance to really roll up the industry by buying out SKG and Farm.tv along with a few other smaller players in the geo market

On the Spring Training angle, we have three Geos

that are Spring Training bases: Bradenton.tv, Sarasota.tv, and PortStLucie.tv. I think there is also a team in Kississmee, so it might be four geos.

So there is potential (next spring training) to take advantage of your content from SpringTraining.tv.

And you can't go wrong with MudWrestling.

Well, unless you have videos of guys doing it.

I also like College Town Geos (got all the unregged D-1 football towns) like Morgantown.tv. Nothing is better than videos of couches burning after the Mountaineers beat my beloved Hokies and selling tickets to college football games. You also get the social networking angle. I refer to it as YouTube on Campus.

Plus, colleges are breeding grounds for future weddings, so it helps that side of the business. Also cosmetic surgery is big with that demographic.

Yeah no guys Mud Wrestling, hahaha Spring Training I thought was a good reg for 07,
The main focus for development right now will be Bmovies.tv and Minpin and Doberman.tv

Wet.tv will take some money but a channel geared toward Wet women( Water I mean not porn ) and Water Sports

I like the D-1 football angle you get a lot of User Generated Content

I believe Millers mentioned the college angle once on this board

he gets the credit for putting this idea in my head.

mammothlakes ever been there, or hear of it?

I researched and discovered that mammoth lakes is California's premiere
mountain resort.

After further research, I decided to register mammothlakes.tv.

I would like to hear from those of you that know anything about this
mammothlakes california location and what your feelings are regarding
the potential development of this .tv reg

Thanking you in advance.

If it matters, I own Cuba.tv and built a little site there with more to come. I also own Havana.tv, Varadero.tv and most of the good city names in Cuba so I'm ready for the time that country opens up.

Very smart thinking! I wonder if North Korea will ever open up? Nothing like Cuba, though, which will become a tourist's Mecca, fairly soon.

... What do you think their reasoning was to avoid the GEO TV scene??
I believe those who reg'd good .com cities early on (Associated Cities members) did not bother to concern themselves with newer tld's when they were released. Quite honestly, it was a bit of a miscalculation on their part ... maybe dotcom tunnel vision. They knew they had premium .com geo-domains.

Many of the .TV cities were considered pricey back in 2000 and .TV remained well under the radar. It didn't seem relevant then.

Times change, ;).
