Good day pros and newbies alike in this forum.
I am a newbie in this domaining business and I know it's an adventure that requires patience and some good measure of searching and marketing skill. I registered 4 domains (vbar.org, electricgates.org, thestrem.com, thestrem.net all at godaddy).
I know that in domaining, patience is a key factor. But I want to sell these domain names quickly but in this venture I am supposed to exercise patience but I find myself in a dire financial situation and I need money. I have contacted end users and offered ridiculously cheap price. I have listed on various auction sites with dirt cheap price. I have parked, yet no revenue. I should have developed but lack the finance.
So, pros in the house, can you help a newbie like me sell these domains quickly.
I welcome constructive criticism as well.
Thanks and God bless y'all.

You're in a dire financial situation... but you're spending money on a new hobby you don't yet understand.

You know patience is a key factor... but you think someone can help you sell your names quickly.

You're brand new on the forum, and the first thing you do is to tell everyone a sob story and ask if someone will do your work for you. Even if your situation is legitimate, you have to realize how badly this request reflects on you.

If you're really in bad financial shape stop messing around with domains. At this point they're like lottery tickets.

If you're making this up to gain sympathy, drop the act and realize that:
  1. People on here respect hard work and honest dialogue.
  2. You need to stop asking for answers, and start asking how to find your own answers.
  3. You will not make money quickly or easily with domain names.
Read. Learn. Experiment. Do the work.

Thanks sir pogba for the suggested value of vbar.org but I want something more than that.

I understand you sir evergreen. I am not making up the act as I am being truthful and honest when I said patience is a key factor. I didn't spend money on something I don't understand even though I have not understood perfectly. I have read and studied articles and blogs on domaining for close to 4 months. We are bound to make mistakes as a newbies in these ventures because we are testing new water(something we have not done before). And I didn't explicitly mean the pros should do the sales for me but they could make an offer.
So pls can you be my mentor?
Thanks.

Your registrations are poorly, you need to acquire better domains if you want to profit. vbar.org may sell for a small sum but the rest are lacking quality.

Domaining is hard work and an expensive learning curve for most. Hand registering domains is profitable in the long run if you choose the right domains but you may have to sit on them for years before you get enough interest.

There are other methods of acquiring domains that you should consider like expired domain auctions, backorders, new gTLD's landrush, domain auctions and of course buying directly of domainers. Like any other trade one must buy low and sell high to achieve success.

Keep reading here at namePros, watch expired auctions and historical sales data on websites like namebio to get a feel of what domains are selling or in-demand.

Google 'Adsense' (Keyword Tool) to get 'search volume' and stats of particular keyword/s.

Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)

ExpiredDomains.net - expired domain auctions.

It just Doesnt happen. There are two ways to go about it in my book - which is different i think then many people on here. -

- 1 - Buy a hand reg site that I could personally need be - develop - without coding skills ie wordpress.
  • The reason is not because I am going to developing it or even making a wordpress. the reason is because the name is sellable, however I don't usually go this route because its always a waiting game. Its not easy to sell domains here imo which are more expensive then reg fees.
  • What I mean when I say I can make a wordpress site is, I wouldnt exactly register 42330291003.com just because i saw a similar domain sell for 10000. However I might buy domainseller.com / as its somthing I can wait for a buyer.
- 2 - The route I usually take.

  • Buy names which are cheap here / other forums / auctions/ lots which work out cheap.
  • I try to keep an ongoing movement of money. There is no such thing as taking money out of the domain portfolio in this case.
  • If I Say buy 100 domains for 1 dollar, and can manage to sell say 25 of them for 4 dollars, then the rest are profit. However its such a long term since the numbers are so low, its impossible to take money out in the beginning and see any real growth over time if the money is not going back in.

In both of these steps though, there is no sure fire way to keep the money coming in, And also as people said above, If you are in dire need for money, Do not expect 4 domains to get you out of the hole, Especially ones that are not really sellable. - I look at my "domains" as a total over under - rather then individual sales.

Think of a bookie. - He could have one day winnings of 10thousand, but the next set of games , lose 20thousand. Its all long term . There are no get rich quick schemes in this world, because if there was, millionares could spend a day on godaddy, and turning it to 2million the next day, 4 the next, so on so forth.

Thanks but im no pro, im here trying to learn just as you are. with the .org, I would suggest trying to find an organization with a longer name with those initials. and send emails. If you want 60000 for a domain, thats okay, but if you want to make a sale, dont be afraid to make say 20 dollars on a name and go back at it again =)

Noted sir. I thought a 4 letter domain would attract buyers.

Well they do but they dont. .com is king, remember this with any other extension (as of right now) think back 10 years ago, how many sites were .net, those days are (gone) I have a good ammount of .us / .org / .anything. But they all are direct. Its like a phone - Just because the Iphone 10 sells for 1000, doesnt mean the newest nokia will sell for 1000 also.

4letters surely are worth more then 5 letters, Try listing it for Double reg fees, and dropping the price a dollar every bump until it sells / staying over cost / fees.

Also, .org means organization, so while there are a lot of .orgs out there, You might not get a .org sale to someone who is trying to start a store or somthing like this. Im not sure if this makes sense, but watch out with random names which look good, I have yet to make any real money on sites that are patterns.

For me buying a name for 1 dollar and selling for 4 dollars , is so much more important than selling am 8 dollar domain name for 12 dollars.

I do see "bump" on auction thread, whats the meaning?

" Bump (or bring) Up My Post "- You get one bump per 24 hours and 1 minute. This brings your post back up to the top of the that specific sales category. Its hard to sell your name when its on page 45.
