I wanted to thank everyone involved with my .TV auction. I really wanted to be as fair as possible. Of course I would have liked to sell everything in auction, but that is never really possible. I will be PMing those involved over the next hour or two. Please feel free to leave some criticisms, what you liked and disliked. What kept you from participating? Were the names too expensive? Did you like or dislike the format. All information is appreciated as it will make my next auction better.

Thanks to all those who took the time to watch and bid.

Congratulations again Marlowe. The auction was a great initiative on your behalf.

The positives, in my opinion are:
1. Very well planned with at least a week or more notice with all names listed.
2. Comencing price ranges and incremental bidding amount allowed for each price category.
3. The rules of the Auction very well set out at the beginning of the thread with a definite starting (no bids prior) and ending time. You also gave people the opportunity to make a private offer on a name up to 72 hours before the start.

The only negative, because the auction was not "live" or dynamic in the true sense, is that a last minute bid was impossible (as mentioned by Fin). As suggested, next time a 2 min extended period after the last bid would be a good idea like what occurs at TDNAM.

Fantastic effort and well done!

Ed: In the last 30 min there were 12-14 NPers viewing the thread.

i just think final bid should have clocked at :59- if the auction ends at :00, bids should not come in then that are accepted, it is over-

sorry, just aggrivated i missed a name i wanted cuz a bid came in at the closed time

I appologize for missing the name. If there was confusion, I must not have explained it well enough. I will be more specific in future auctions. I was watching my clock at home (which I tried to synchronize to the NP clock), with 15 seconds to 12:00PM (6:00 PM EST), I started typing my closing post and clicked post at noon, it took about 20 seconds to upload as many folks were trying to get in their last bid. Next time I will make all of the pitfalls of these types of auction apparent prior to bidding opening.

I am still working on a platform for auctions that fully accomodates everyone.

its ok- there is no confusion :) i just thought when the clock hit :00, it was over, if a bid is accepted at :00, then, it isnt over :) just for the future, that is just a common thing when ending at a certain time- had nothing to do with who was trying to bid or even when you got on- you could have come on 30 minutes late- there is still the timestamp you go by- live and learn- :)

Because there is no accounting for seconds. I thought it best to post CLOSED. Technically the last bid came in at exactly 6:00PM, it does not say 6:00:01 PM, because of this I did my best to post closed at exactly 6PM. I was not watching bidding, I was focused on the clock, clicked the post quick reply at exact closing time. Again I appologize for not previously making everyone aware of my closing post.
