.info Geo .org .info - Which one?

I remember participating in a thread and someone was mentioning that he would rather have Geo.info instead of Geo.org.

I immediately replied stating that I would much rather have the Geo.org but a few other members appear to agree with .info being superior in this case.

So I decided to open a poll and see what's the general consensus.

Great question, and I would disagree and say .org, at least in the US. Many nonprofits here have tons of advertising/marketing money. They might pay a good sum for the city or area they serve in .org.

right now for an enduser .org would be more valuable, since many people don't even know .info, but IMO .info goes better together with geo than .org. In a long run there would be more development possibilities, .org afterall is for organisations!

However generic orgs are more valuable

so, for resale i would rather have the org, to keep, own and develop and market, gimme the info everytime :sold: , for a geo

I would have to disagree with all the people that say that the .org is better. I would definately prefer China.info over China.org anyday. But I wouldn't mind owning any of them or both

I think geo domains are good with any extension. But if you want to compare, i think .info is much better than .org

I prefer China.info to China.org. It's a better fit between keyword and extension. .org is perfect for not for profit sites but if people are expecting an affiliate travel guide site with links to offers on flights, hotels and tours in China, .info is better suited.

If you're talking about a name that is available to register and you're looking to develop, I'd reg both and redirect the .org to the .info. I think .info is a better match for a geo name than .org... but not by too much... it's close.
