I've seen a lot of people arguing that .info domains are underated recently and so I thought it may be a good time to ask the question about which domains are best of the three extensions: .net, .org & .info.

Define "best", please. :)

Sorry I prefer to leave the definition vague and so that the surveyed person makes up their own mind on how they interpret the question.

One person will consider an extension better because of the resale value of the extension, another may consider an extension better because of it's potential and another may look at the reputation of the sites that use the extension.

Since most here are domainers...to me "best" for a domainer is what provides the prospects of highest ROI (Return on Investment) over a given period of time. Given that .info is newer extension and therefore has more room to grow than older tlds, and then the fact that often an .info can be regged for less than a couple of bucks...it should really be a no brainer as to whats the "best" tld for an average, typical domainer.

I think it will mostly depend on domain name itself.

EX: donations.org will be better then donations.info

And maps.info will be better then maps.org

Generally speaking, the first option. :imho:

.net > .org > .info for me

1st: .NET, 2nd: .ORG, 3rd: .INFO

Info's are just cheap!

As tlds I'd rank them as .net>>.org>.info

As a domain name...Well, it depends on the name and how it agrees with the extension :imho:

Generally speaking, the 1st option .net>>.org>>.info. But in some cases .info will be more valuable than .org and vice versa.

In most cases I would prefer .net > .info > .org , but it really depends on the keywords. .net will work with almost any domain, that is why I think it is #1, but with .info and .org it really depends as the extentions are more specific to the keywords. If I had to choose between .info and .org, seven out of ten times I would probably say .info, as that extention is really taking off, whereas .org seems to be slowing down tremendously.

i believe .info>.net>org

info has potential as most of the internet is INFORMATION :) :imho:

Like others have said, I think .info, .org depend on the keyword.

1net 2org 3 info
but off course it depends on the domain name you have....
and what are the purposes of the site...

.info would make the bottom of my list. I don't like domain names that end with .info.

1: NET 2: INFO 3: ORG because of the reason vimkar stated...I still put .net in first as it works with just about everything.
