GD Refund for buyers regret?

Spaceship Spaceship
Watch
Does GD offer a refund for buyers regret? I bought a few sad names at about 1 am the other night. I'd like to cancel them and get a refund. I keep hearing about this "5 day" rule, where you cancel and then get a refund. Could someone post how I'd go about that?

I wish casinos would offer a refund if you regret placing a bet.

^

The registry offers that service to the registrars, unfortunately very few of them actually pass that service along to the customer.

GoDaddy doesn't offer refunds -- linky

In fact Bob Parsons hates the drop and release system.
During the week of March 27 โ€” April 2, 2006, 5,822,881 .COM names were registered. Of those names, only 455,918 .COM names were actually retained after the grace period expired.

Of the .COM names registered during the above week 5,366,963 โ€“ or 92.1% โ€” were dropped during the grace period. Once again, at least 99% of these were dropped by registrars participating in the add/drop scheme.
Rightly so, in a way. Read the rest of what he says here

I think they do offer a refund, but only if it has a TM violation or something like that. I'm not totally sure. It's worth a try though.

But if you used the "$1.99 + non-domain product" thing to buy the domain, so it only costed like $6.20 total or whatever, you'll only get the $1.99 back.

Best bet is to not ask GD for a refund, but instead sell the names at or below the cost you paid for them. Or keep them for a while, promote them without spending money, get a little traffic to them, and then sell them. Sorry man, not much else to do I guess.

You can probably profit on them, no matter how sad they are. Most people will pay $10 for a name these days if it has a few links.

Not the best of ideas...

In any event, I too thought that GoDaddy never offered refunds, but was informed otherwise in this thread: http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/185107-canceled-domain-when-does-my-money.html

I tried it out last week on a particularly dumb registration (Misheard a domain name on TV that showed as available) and sure enough, it worked.
